Yeah, I wish Alfa for once could do things in an orderly fashion. I fear that they will pull the plug or delay like they have been doing continuously ever since they pulled out of NA in 1995. They have such a special car in the 4C - I hope they don't mess it up!

It's in French but it's one of the best videos of the car I've seen. Nice walk around stuff in the beginning and some good interior shot when driving.

Not just an Alfa technique but other manufacturers too
The Toyota LFA was allegedly sold out and emails were sent around to the masses calling to form a waiting list. When the car arrived in the US, numerous examples were miraculously available

Big difference is that Alfa has a huge race car and sports car heritage, and the 4C offers very advanced technology for a very modest price. I don't think they will have any problems selling the 500 LE destined for the US. I have waited almost 20 years for them to return, and seeing the ridiculous we-will-return-in-2-years rolling window, somehow I would not be surprised if they pull the plug in the 11th hour. Anyway, I am ready to go to a dealer and put down a deposit... if I only knew where...

Does anyone have any contacts in LA as to which dealer may be selling this car?
Is Ferrari/Maserati Beverly Hills a start?

All initial rumors said Fiat dealers, and the Fiat dealer I spoke to expected to be selling them. Recent rumors have mentioned Maserati dealers, but who knows... They are built by Maserati...

There are no "official" dealers in the US yet. I have contacted some of the biggest Fiat dealers and also F/M dealers and the answer comes back pretty much the same:

Ferrari/Maserati will not be selling Alfa or the 4C.

SOME Fiat dealers will be selling Alfa but it's believed they will set up separate dealerships. It's not clear which Fiat dealers will get the license but it seems like they will pick the top ones.

My guess in LA is try the biggest Fiat dealers. But, do not be surprised if the sales people have no clue. There is still no official word when the car will be sent to the US. Some say it's 2nd Qtr 2014, which could be April/June.

My understanding is that the car will be at the LA Auto show for it's US debut but that has has been rumored to be and not be true.

    Typical Alfa......

Wow that's frustrating. This car has so much promise, and yet there is no organization regarding its comeback debut back into the states.
Are you planning in going to the LA Autoshow? Hopefully there will be some more info there.

Though, if you go to the 2013 LA Autoshow home page is does not list Alfa as debut'ing any vehicles, whether World, North America, or show debuts: LA Auto ShowDebut Vehicles » LA Auto Show
But again, for Alfa, that does not mean they aren't debut'ing it there for North America...

Even if made in CF, you'd still have those bumperettes sticking out - see post #269, it has additional aluminum crash structures behind those covers, welded to the actual bumper beam (which, too, is beefier than the European version). You'd have to hack those off, at which point you'd be able to convert it to Euro-spec appearance. There is not enough space to convert it without modifying the bumper beam. Which would probably make it not road-legal anymore? Not sure how much they enforce that kind of thing.

See attached CAD (of an Euro-spec vehicle), which shows just how close to the bumper cover the rear bumper beam is.

Yes, I agree it would stick out. But, it would not be so obvious and might look more like a design detail around the rear plate.

If they had an actual marketing plan, we could make that judgement.

Mid 2014 is what was said at the press official presentation a few weeks ago so no surprise there for me.

No LA show is a huge blow IMO and I really don't understand why they would not at least present it. No matter what happens with Chrysler they will sell the 4C in the US so show it to the public at least!

Is that official the no LA?

Who knows. If it's Pebble beach, that's the summer of next year. That means 2015.
