Actually, metallic red. If you think Corvette's get the same attention as a 458, you better put down the crack pipe. Almost any joe can walk into the 900 Chevy dealers that sell them today and walk away with one tonight. No waiting period, no need to buy a used car first, no extra charge for GPS or Cruise control or homelink or a back up camera or electric seats(total cost for those things in a Ferrari: about 18 grand). In LA, you can see a C4, C5 or C6 at every stop light. They made over 250,000 of them all for the US market. C6 production alone was 120K. It's just another car. If you think cops don't lust after catching rich dudes in their Ferrari's, you really need to stop sniffing glue. I can't tell you how many times I've had them on my tailpipe for miles. And, they ain't smiling. Lastly, the C7 is no Videl Sassoon hairdresser car. Can we agree with that? I haven't driven the C7 yet but I bet it has more driving passion in it than the 458 spider. If it doesn't, I'll sell it too. No biggie. Why should I have machines around that I really don't like to drive? Just to say "I have one?" Seems rather shallow -- like someone putting it in their garage and driving it 500 miles a year. Rather pathetic.

mayor, I just put the cap back on my Testers Model Glue & put down my crack pipe, only because I need both hands to type. In going from Ferrari 458 ownership to Chevy's Newest "Hot" Corvette, you simply went from a Ferrari badge on the bonnet to a Chevy badge. Are you going to be able to utilize all the Corvette's horsepower on the street? With a Red Corvette are you going to be able to avoid police scrutiny & public attention? Did you buy a car without ALL the nanny systems, that you felt hindered your "Seat of the pants driving experience" of your 458? Did you eliminate the frustration of door dings in parking lots? The answer to these questions, is a resounding, NO! You claimed in your "I'm done with Ferrari" thread https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/ferrari-discussion-not-model-specific/424627-i-think-im-done-ferrari.html that you wanted to get back to basics, a simpler, more driver involved car. So how does a 2014 Corvette purchase achieve any of your goals of returning to a more simpler time of sports car ownership?, once again, the answer being a resounding, NO! Well, I'm starting to Jones!, time for another "whiff" & a nickel rock "hit"...Alex
Vette: plastic body car. No door dings 7 speed manual vs a 30 grand replacement cost "non rebuildable" DCT 450 hp out of a pretty ordinary and reliable small block. Cast manifolds instead of all too often broken headers Less attention? Absolutely. 0-60: about 4.2 for the Vette and 3.8 for the 458. Can I feel that difference in the seat of my pants? Nope. Simpler? Yes. Better? I didn't say that, did I. Apples and oranges. I say again, for the price of my 458 spider I am planning on getting a Corvette Convertible fully loaded, and Alfa 4C, and a 512 BB. Care to argue that isn't a good trade?
Funny story, or at least I found it funny. During the process of turning my novel into a film I had the chance to speak to a lot of very famous people. One of the actors considering one of the two male leads was in town for another reason and we sat down and talked for awhile. He was told about me and that I had a thing for cars and he asked me about them when I told him about the Ferrari's I owned (and no longer do) he looked at me and said "guess you had something to prove back then", not exactly the reaction I expected. I smiled and nodded my head. When I told him about the LMB Z06 I had at the time he slapped his hand on the table and "Damn now that's a car". I learned a couple things that day first one was some stars (even the ones that have gorgeous wives and have been voted sexiest man alive) are more down to earth than I am, and that owning high cars does not always put you in a positive light. I was glad I had the chance to own Ferrari's and I agree with The mayor. In fact once I heal from my bypass surgery next month I think I am going to give the Kerbeck's a call.
I had bypass surgery about 4 years ago. Good luck to you. I feel 20 again! You'll get through the pain. Do you REHAB as they say!!!! You'll get better 10 times faster.
I saw this Black coupe last week. The black hides the plastic bits and really makes the car sharp. Looked fantastic... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks for the info, when I have time ill take a look over there. Haven't been there in a few years, they used to sell Lamborghini and Lotus there in the early 2000's. And that white car above looks great. Have to say it, they really hit the ball out of the park on this one.
Perfection! I think other colors might look better with body color trim. My guess is it wont be long before pictures pop up with paint mods. Not that I dislike them, but the black trim does seem to stand out on lighter colored cars.
Thanks! Ironically I make an "All Corvettes are Red" reference, and a few days later I see my first C7...and it's red...I'm good! Edit... For those that might not get the reference, http://www.amazon.com/ALL-CORVETTES-ARE-RED-American/dp/0684808544/
That didn't take long... I wonder how you do this? Flip it? The enter rear of the roof is turn off. This is NOT a convertible (it is now though!) Image Unavailable, Please Login
Posting from a phone? Hope the occupants survived. It looks to me as if it may have driven under a truck.
There were no fatalities or injuries. The owner is parting it out on Craigslist which is where the photo was taken from. He says his detailer did it on a joy ride. Sure.......
Fastback look for cheap. Rear could use some work though, think they went a little to far. Hopefully he has gap insurance.
Making customers buy the Z51 option to be able to get the mag shocks is one of the reasons why Z51 orders increased dramatically. The mag shocks were a stand alone option before with the C6. CH
Makes sense to me. I'm now spoiled by the mag shocks in my Cali. They may as well be called "magic," as they offer the best of ride and handling. If I were to get a 'Vette, I'd certainly order it with mag shocks.
