I went last year and it was the best that I've seen. The show at Lake Mary being a close second.

Unfortunately, I have too many commitments this weekend...

Thanks for posting those pics Barton!

Those of you living, or staying (hint-hint), near the State Road 33 corridor as far north as Leesburg, have the unique opportunity to avoid interstates and turnpikes to get there.

Drat. Overcomittted for tomorrow. I'll mark my calendar for next year.
Kevin, will we see you at C&C next Saturday? Nevertheless, call me if you want to get a coffee downtown any day this week.

Ha, yeah. I knew of an event in Lakeland. But not the name and pretty much forgot about it. Looks like a great show, not much of a drive, maybe I'll remember next year.
Amelia and Celebration are the only shows really burned into my memory.

There will be a big GM presence at the LMC today as they're going to unveil the
Cadillac Sixteen and GM VP of Design Don Cherry is the Honorary Chairman.

This is a switch from the usual HC which in most recent years included retired racing drivers
such as Brian Redman, Hurley Haywood and Bob Tullius.

The auction which has been taking place during the main event itself is a bit of a cast off.
Last year, the sell through rate was less than 20% and featured some of the same cars that
went across the block in 2011.

The LMC is a filter event for the Amelia Island Concours, thus we saw Bill Warner's Daytona Coupe
on the lawn last year. In any case, it's a nice event and you never know who you'll run into.

    Nice turnout once again.

Nice day until the clouds disappeared and then it warmed up.

    Ferraristi,

I live in Lakeland and that show is just up the street from me. It's mainly American Iron and heavy on the classics. While there are a few Ferraris there, it's not about exotics.

The show is free and there is ample and safe parking all around the surrounding downtown area. I went there once but I prefer something like Ferraris at St. Armands Circle.

Yes, there is a big muscle car and classic presence. But, there are also woody boats,
micro cars and classic motorcycles. The Mustang, Mercedes-Benz, Viper and replica
Shelby Cobra clubs are well represented.

The LMC is a feeder event to Amelia Island and so that goes along with Bill Warner's
program which is to showcase a wide variety of cars rather than exotics alone.

The show is spread out over a large area centered on Lake Mirror but extends well
into downtown Lakeland so there is a lot to see, a very diverse field of entires so there
is something for everyone and from what I saw of the nearly two hours there yesterday,
there was another good spectator turnout as it is a good family event. People bring
the kids and dogs and make a day of it.

Like most down town located events, things don't change much. So, it runs the risk of
being the same thing year after year. Not much in the way of Ferrari presence, a nice
    365 GTC/4 in the judged area, a 308 GTSi, 360 Spider, 599, 430 Spider (but no official
Ferrari dealer presence as in years past) as well as an Aston Marin DB7 Zagato Roadster
    and Mercedes-Benz SLS Roadster.

I don't really get the auction bit though. They run it during the height of the event rather
than as a stand alone event in the evening which would make more sense. They're lucky
to get 20% sell through rates and this being the third year of the auction, we saw several
of the same cars cross the block as did in 2011 which likely still no-saled.

A bit uncharacteristically warm yesterday especially when the clouds moved out and the
sun shined, well into the low 90's but at least the rain held off.
