I think they do......Theyll get their hands on the data from Audi and thus they will return as champions....

I would be very surprised if they didn't come right out of the gate and be extremely competitive, but I don't think a first place OA is going to happen this year.

I'm basing this on an assumption that Audi has much more recent experience with things like strategy, reliability, pit stop execution, etc. Little things that added up, can make or break a race.

I would NOT count out Porsche for the overall win in their first year. They do know how to win lets not forget

Ehhh Im not so sure about that. Porsche/Audi have always had a close relationship. Does Porsche holding not now own 50.7 % of VW as well? The Audi brand has also had an amazing last decade sales wise, and so has Porsche, but its time to give Porsche a little bit of action/victory on the racing front, even more so with the 918 coming out. Heck the car looks almost just like the R18 in more ways than one.

The conjecture thus far is that this car uses a inline turbo 4 hybrid which is I suspect similar to the 918 hybrid gear. The exhaust exit is just left of the fin.

Audi has diesels. That might still prove to be an advantage.

Should be fun to see what happens with the car...they have totally redesigned it from the video above and pictures they've released as well.

I'd say that means they are all-in and going for the win ASAP. Usually takes 2-3 years for that to happen at the soonest though.

    Sort of...

Porsche Holding company (The 'Family') owns slightly over half of VW AG,

    but,

VW AG owns over half of Porsche Automobiles (and most of 10 other auto, truck, bus and motorcycle [Ducati] manufacturers).

    I think.

    Is that clear?
