always happens after i take a spin in the 12c
i just cant believe how good it is

but you have to know how to drive. and by the way when i fired it up in my garage i was stunned at how much LOUDER it was than my f12 which is way louder than my 458

so much Bs about the noise already

I offer a poem for this thread, having read it from the beginning:

Be wary of the loathsome troll
    that slyly lies in wait
to drag you to his dingy hole
and put you on his plate.

His blood is black and boiling hot,
    he gurgles ghastly groans.
He'll cook you in his dinner pot,
your skin, your flesh, your bones.

He'll catch your arms and clutch your legs
and grind you to a pulp,
then swallow you like scrambled eggs--
    gobble! gobble! gulp!

So watch your steps when next you go
    upon a pleasent stroll,
or you might end up in the pit below
    as supper for the troll.

If I ever become a Macca fan pls do not let me suffer any further and do the noble thing, anybody.

P.S. I'd probably be killed anyway by the wayward handling... ;)

Crying wolf! Having lost the argument you you resort to this? Losing your cool isn't. On the other hand, you chose the wrong car and now must convince yourself that it's OK to be down over $100k in less than a year.

I'm not a regular poster, but enjoy reading most of the threads on this site. This one, however, is trying to argue taste and preferences, which is pointless, as they are unique to each individual. It's starting to sound like kindergartners arguing whose daddy can beat up someone else's daddy...

The day when I buy my Ferrari, the first thing I'm NOT going to do is try to find everybody who likes Lamborghini or McLaren or whatever other car better to convince them Ferrari is better. Instead I'm going to enjoy driving it. Whatever somebody else thinks about my car, is not my concern.

I love both the MP4 and 458. I think the MP4 doesn't get enough credit - it is seriously one badass car. Looks like a spaceship while on public roads.

To me, the only two relevant reasons the 12C is failing in the marketplace: Looks and specialness.

The car has no visual excitement. I am rather disappointed in Maclaren. To me in the past they have had the intangibles and feel nailed down better than Ferrari, and they let that go to waste chasing technological superiority, a pitfall the Nissan GTR has also fallen into.

My point to back that up is the original 1992-1997 F1. No other modern car is as special, not the P1. not the LaFerrari, Enzo, Vayron, anything. That car was gorgeous, cutting edge, analog, fast and it won Le Man overall in 1995. What Ferrari supercar can lay claim to that? To me, they are all poseurs.

And what's so great about them is Macs customer service. Top notch, and the customers actually drive the car, not worrying about depreciation because the specialness of the car outweighs mere amount of usage.

That's how a supercar should be.

Unfortunately, the 12C gets it all wrong. It is a fantastic car. It is not a fantastic supercar. It simply is not special enough. So in that case, even though the F458 is not special as well, it gets the looks part right. A supercar should make a childs day. He/she should see it and gasp with awe at such a fast, incredible car. The Countach nailed it to a T. The 12C, not so much.

There is no reason for 12C customers to defend their cars though. The 12C can defend itself, as it in itself is a great car, performance notwithstanding. It still looks great for a modern car, just not as exciting as most where expecting.

Funny, he had a 458 and has many other cars so I don't really think he gives a crap about depreciation. Seems to me that since you are the OP on this thread and have to keep defending the 458 and knocking the 12C that you must have gotten beat pretty bad by 12C in a race or have something to prove to the 12C Owners, by the way some of us also have Ferrari's and appreciate other Marques.

There are 512 12C Coupes in the USA with only Spiders for 2014. Let's see where the prices are in 5 years, if that really matters.

Agree 100%, in fact buy both. But the OP was trolling when he started this thread to begin with, perhaps he got his ass handed to him in a race with Lone Wolf.

It is a follow up to this though.

    And therein lies the problem.

That is a good point actually.

If Mclaren's follow up to the 12C takes off, the low production numbers will make the 12C appreciate on rarity alone.

No, I think you are misunderstanding me. This is a Ferrari site. A number of posters, some of which are trolls were dumping on the 458 and proclaiming the 12-C to be superior. In my opinion and that of others including numerous professionals the 458 is the superior drive. I referenced some of those commentaries to prove my point. Additionally, the total cost of ownership of the 12-C is higher because of the massive depreciation in the US. Of course the 12-C is a great car which I have stated repeatedly. Many people can own only one, for those people I am making the case that the 458 is the better choice. I expect the case for the 12-C is better made on the MAC forum. Of course I wouldn't make the case for the 458 over at the MAC site as that would be in poor taste. Really, this is a Ferrari forum in a 458 section. Who has an axe to grind? Who is the troll?

I also have and do enjoy other Marques as well but I don't tout them on Ferrari forums.
