For someone so against rumour , you certainly seem to have have no scruples in employing them to prove your points . What a strange statement "borderline-illegal" is anyway ...
RedBull's tactic is hardly rumor at this point. I called it "borderline illegal" as it fits the mold of one of those things Charlie Whiting could easily deem illegal on a whim, as we have seen with past technological tricks employed by various teams in F1 when a competitive advantage has been gained. There are better places to speculate why it hasn't been yet than this thread. >8^) ER
There seems to be a great deal of vitriol in this thread for no reason. Anyway, for the first time since the F40, Ferrari will be offering more than one tire for a super Ferrari. LaFerrari will have tire options, but unlike the F40, LaFerrari will not be offered will multiple gear ratios. Though there are some interesting things going at Micheletto .
Wonder why all the vitriol when we have such well informed and insightful people on this forum. A flash back:
Look, I normally I don't get bogged down in internet forum fights or squabbles but you seem to add little to nothing to any discussion you're apart of, aside from posting gems like these http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/ferrari-discussion-not-model-specific/408628-any-women-here.html http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/f1/409697-fernandos-fresh-helmet-dasha-will-delighted.html I ignored your first attack on me, which is what I do with most internet trolls, but you continue to troll myself and other users on this forum that actually add to the content rather than just spewing vitriol and posting nonsensical things that only you find funny. So now I will address your previous question from awhile ago. "Do you make these things up?" NO. That would mean that I've spent nearly 8 years on an internet forum, (through which I've met many people, some of whom have become close personal friends) lying about everything. Which is absolutely asinine, if you had just bothered to look at any of my other posts you would see that I have quiet a few good contacts throughout the Ferrari world and factory. Unless of course, I photo shopped photos of myself riding in 599xxs, FXXs, 250TRs, etc. or the photos I posted of the '2008' Enzo being built in the Classiche department by five people. This would also mean that I've faked all of my inside market information that I've gotten and shared with people like Jim, Marcel, Steve (MiuraSV), Carbon etc. when I could. Then again how would I have known that 5111GT sold months and months before Ferrari, Bloomberg, and Cavillino, reported it? http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/vintage-ferrari-market/411755-250-gto-sale.html That's one hell of a guess isn't it? So in short: NO I do not make these things up. Have you ever heard of a NDA? (Non Disclosure Agreement) I have signed more than a few with several collectors and Ferrari in regard to various things. I let out the stuff I can, and am always happy to learn something new from someone who may have more information than me. So hopefully that answer your questions. Best Michael Edit: If you have any further questions, or would like to discuss this further, PM me. I do not wish to derail this thread.
I think his screenname is meant to be "I Go Round", not unlike a broken record. I think the majority of people highly value your contributions here Michael, and you are right to give little concern to the ones who don't. >8^) ER
Thank you Eric, I appreciate it. Side note, I saw a finished 'production' P1 in the flesh. It's growing on me. Any idea of time frame for US deliveries?
Well thanks for the answer, I guess. A bit late, nasty and still not explaining about the LaF 0.2 seconds away from which record, the two versions you promised and the alleged delays in development, but still better than no answers, I guess.
You must have missed it along the way, I posted what record they were after somewhere but anyway, at the time Ferrari were looking at trying to beat the then current 0-300KPH record. However, the Hennessey Venom GT crushed any chance of getting the record for LaFerrari. Other than XX version which will come forward, there is project now being worked on at Micheletto.
They have only said Q1 of 2014. I suspect Leno will get one of the first to arrive as he did with the 12C, so it shouldn't be a secret for long once they get here. >8^) ER
I'd prefer this answer if I could choose. Tnx. Don't you think Ferrari is doing something with the second design they were proposed and they kept secret? I thought that could explain your claim of the two versions. Or alternatively that could reemerge as a Maserati or the F80. Sure is they will at some point use it, even if only as a concept, no? Maybe a LaFerrari Speciale on the lines of the Veyron SS.
I put this in the LaFerrari thread I think but: "At this point what I know is: a client(XX and F1 owner) commissioned an SP based on LaFerrari, and asked that the car be lighter than the "standard version" road version. He requested that the car not have the HYKERS system, he was told this may be possible (maybe). However, he was told the car would be lighter than the "standard car". This client is also getting a "standard version". "
I can't wait too see what the other design is. Maybe will be the design language basis for the next crop of cars starting with the 458 replacement. Fact is the anticipation is half the pleasure and regardless of which of these three cars will be a couple of seconds faster around any track in Germany, I know which one I had the most fun with in the months building up to the revealing, and to which one of their respective replacements I am looking forward to the most. You can't put a price on that (or a stopwatch).
No I didn't miss the point, apparently you missed mine, but no point in derailing this thread. Would rather do any arguing in the F1 Section.
I'm confused . . . a client is getting a LaFerrari AND a LaFerrari chassis and frame withouth the KERS?
A client is getting a LaFerrari additionally he is getting an SP based on a LaFerrari, which may or may not include a HY-Kers system. The SP based on a Laferrari and will be lighter than a 'regular LaFerrari'. The client requested the SP not have the HY-Kers system, at this point I don't know if the SP will have the HY-Kers system or not. If you're asking how he is able get two LaFerraris, it's not unheard for Ferrari to break their own 'rules' regarding allocations. More than one person was able to order two Enzos at the same time. Though it doesn't hurt to be involved with a company that owns 5% of Ferrari.

Few reports that the P1 has destroyed the 7 minute time today..... Official announcement supposed to be tomorrow Honestly - it can't be a surprise that it did, based on the weight/hp/downforce etc Well done to Mclaren though! Kevin (Still not a fan of the styling, but the performance is insane)
Kevin, I really don't care so much about that time, what is absolutely insane is the Acceleration and speed in the 1/4 Mile, plus the Braking!
And some people still want to believe B2G's 7:04 rumoured lap time. Well, I made it clear from the beginning that they will be in for a shock...
