Wait until the official time tomorrow is released. I had McLaren's release on the other Specs early this morning (while snoozing). Either way, it is completely crazy how fast and terrific the P1, 918, and LaFerrari. Cudos to all of the engineers and the people who put these cars together!

I understand the SP program, and I know that anybody that can write a check big enough will get what they want.

I just think it is a bit strange that a guy wants 2 cars, which are almost identical except one has the batteries removed. But, that's his choice.

Is it determined that he is not getting a custom coachwork?

The btg time of 7:04 is very believeable; they obviously had to regroup and try again.

Almost as strange as paying McLaren for changing the color of a sticker, you know what I mean.

I guess some people have more money tan imagination.

Impressive figures! 0-60 is à bit of à dissapointment. But have to keep in mind that the rwd is probably the bottleneck. Curieus about the laferrari figures. Hope they will be unveiled soon.

That's a rumour that came directly from the 'Ring today, but not their fastest lap.

Or maybe... they weren't really trying yet. ;)

Not every lap around the Ring, even in cars like this one, is meant to lay down a record.

Kevin, my friend who was in England a couple days ago and actually got a ride in the P1 when he went to MTC gave me a bit of info that I can't quite post here. But let's just say the BTG was based on Sector times and not an all out run at the time.

Mark is spot on, the number they are looking at it will break the 6:40 time.

Wouldn't that work in favor of the lower time, because sectors could probably be driven fully with the help of the batteries, whereas in a full lap they'll most certainly drain, not to mention that tires will degrade more...

I don't believe that test was anything more than a test at the time, as I understand there were two people in the car. This time McLaren, brought the entire team out, including a helicopter for filming the times.

and why not? I am getting a bit fed up with all these people with friends in high places that supposedly give all sorts of non disclosable info. Why the secrecy? It is just about a laptime of a car.
