Undecided at the moment. Im headed to MTC next month for a quick spat at dunsfield and spec a color. I chose a 2015 slot so plenty of time to figure it out. Maybe orange.

The really cool thing is how different these three cars are (918, P1, LaFerrari). Technology, looks etc. In a way it's more fun than F1 racing with all the regulations, restrictions, same size engines etc....
These 3 truly were born from a blank sheet of paper.

No cars are from a blank sheet of paper without regulation. Ask Jim G.

    This quote should go viral.

My friend almost killed himself in a 458 Challenge car recently. Incredible grip but when it's lost at high speed, you spin too fast to correct. Same for F1 cars. Didn't they slow them down?

The CGT Tires are very good and Porsche/Michelin just made a new version of them that are VERY good. We've had them to VMAX on Ferrari P 4/5 by Pininfarina.

Jim, are you speaking about the tires that originally came on the CGT? Or a revised tire, since it has been about 9 years. I just know a couple of friends that changed tires on their CGT's and feel the cars are much less nervous at the limit.

In the Analogue Supercars article in EVO 186 they highlighted how much the CGT in the test was transformed by the fitment of current Michelin Pilot Super Sports.

I have supersports on my CGT. Night and Day folks. The CGT was nervous at 50mph which is exciting, but dangerous. Thats gone completely, and it is much more fun to bring it up in the rev range and feel the curves. I must say, bring it to redline with the roof off, and you will have had the secret sauce. I still think its the best supercar ever made and I might go get a second......

Its a future classic FOR SURE and should be recognized similarly to the 300SL if I had to compare two cars from different eras.

It great how Porsche continues to develop tires for their older models that are much better than they were originally.

Its crazy to think, certainly in the UK anyway, that CGT's are selling for often half the price of F40's. Surely the market is going to wake up at some point and this will change?

it's better that it doesn't, as more CGTs will be enjoyed on the road that way. :)

I don't see it becoming F40 expensive soon... afterall, they made 1200+ of them.

I made the same change to super sports this year and make the same observation. I was very surprised that they also aided high speed stability.

One of the greatest cars ever produced and can be found at very reasonable prices. Its only real achilles heal being its clutch. I also believe they are the last of their kind as you look at the current breed of the digital hyper car. IMHO of course.

I also loved your post last night concerning the dangers these new cars present. Excellent.

True, at least not until I get a second please! In the US an apples to apples low miles perfect example CGT is a third the price of an F40. That's crazy to me. Now I can't tell you if one is too expensive or the other is too cheap..... You decide.

Thanks! It seems mans pursuit of ultimate speed will never end, but the best cars are already behind us in my opinion.

On a side note who wants to be on a waiting list anyway?? I'll happily go search for my needle in a haystack and the reward becomes that much better!

I was in a 918, as cool as it was it had little soul, the CGT is a gospel singer......

CGT pricing is sort of an anomoly and has always been hard to understand. I also own a few FGT's and look at whats happened to those prices. Doesn't really make sense does it? I love the FGT put its no CGT.

you wont get a good cgt under 290 mate .

It wont be f40 expensive but its nothing to do with the numbers , I think Ferrari actually made more f40s than cgt .

The most under rated car ever , I prefer my cgt to every single other car of mine TO DRIVE .

I couldn't agree more with your perspective. With that said and knowing we are the adrenalin junkies that we are and have been, it would be hard to pass on one (1) of the three (3) hyper cars. We understand the dangers and hopefully are intelligent enough to weigh all the risk once operating. Caution is advised.

Yes, best drivers car for sure. And let me comment on the fit and finish. It is beyond anything I have ever seen. Highly underrated but sure to be a fan favorite over time.

I hope these new hypercars showcase some spectacular craftsmanship.

    Same as others.

We shall or shall not see.

Either way their mismanagement of the "7:04" time is truely epic.

He's had a crush on that car from the moment he saw it -- especially the rear framing.
