    Thanks for posting video link!

So, the stock instrumentation can display the G-forces? Looks like they have a camera filming the LCD instrument cluster, and that that is what is overlaid at the center bottom. Kind of useless if you are driving at high pace as you won't have time to watch G-display, but it would be useful for logging, or like here, picked up with a camera for post analysis.

The g-meter is a little odd. Acceleration moves the dot toward the top and deceleration moves it toward the bottom. Kind of counter-intuitive.

I am no expert on the ring but it also looks like he is turning in pretty early for the corners. That leaves him turning in tighter toward the apex and he appears to be pushing on the exit so he can't unwind and get on the power. Part may be setup and part may be driver, hard to tell from the video.

Yes, the instrument cluster is what's overlaid at the center bottom; it does have a G-Meter, which is only displayed in Race mode (which is equivalent to the No CST option on the manettino, as it turns off traction and stability control). And yes, I agree it looks counter-intuitive.

Do we have an idea if it is normal to do the timed laps starting from the pits? I always thought that they did launched starts.

I believe most of the manufacturers do flying laps.

    I'm sure you're right. Hey, it's Italy.

Correct the car is not even avail for order here in Germany. There is a silly video -configurator they link you to on the Alfa site. The longer it takes the more likely there will be alternatives. Maserati is also thinking of something along the lines of the 4C.

My Alfa dealer here in Germany has zero news now. The data on this car is quiet according to him and he owns 4 stores around this region.

I think if Maserati were to do this, they will take the 6 cylinder engine from the new Ghibli and make a slightly larger car using the 4c as the starting point.

If they call it the new Bora, that would be pretty cool.

Maserati is already building the Alfa 4C for Fiat. I don't think it would make sense for Fiat to have Maserati build a car competing with the 4C, but then again, you never know...

They wouldn't be really competing as it would be a car of a higher level, different engine, etc...

Exactly what I was trying to say in response to DF1's argument that Maserati was thinking of something like 4C :)

You'll have to admit if Maserati stuck in one of their engines and gearbox and redid the interior along with a new plastic body, it would be the cheapest way to get into the sports car market-- if they wanted to.

I'm not sure they want to.

I am not sure if Maserati will ever do it... but I think they probably will. They would cost about EUR80k - 90k I would imagine, have a V6, a little more comfort than the 4C and a little bigger.

It would be fun to see :)

Yeah, and available to US people!

Apparently, there is a new Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Maserati dealership being built just 10 min from my house - not sure how I could have missed it... I am going to go check it out.

I have a Maserati dealer telling me a mid engine car is in the works inspired by the 4c but not a 4c. It would well round out the Maserati line up.

Everyone has their own opinion what "soon" means. :)

I have to run past Towbin in Las Vegas and see what's going on.
