Richard, unfortunately this is not unusual with Miuras, there are many cars that started life as they left Sant Agata at the point of their original production as one thing, and now exist as something different, and it mostly has to do with earlier cars trying to become later cars.

Hope u r well and that Countach V12 is playing like a symphony!

    Hope you are well too

Yes, it is of course, a thousand raspy trumpets. Too bad the season is coming to a close in my neck of the woods! :(

As for confused Miuras, we can only hope the next owners seek out the correct help to make them right again! ;)

I like early cars with wood wheels, no chrome surrounds. It just looks best to me. Truly the original supercar.

Why did they dispense with the iconic eyelashes with the SV? It's seems a bit out of the ordinary for you Joe to like such modifications, but then again it was the old man, so...!

You say rare. Wasn't it unique among SVs, Joe?

they should have kept the eyelashes through the SV, its the feminine side that was lost in the SV form IMHO. I love this SV. The old man knew what he was doing.

I prefer the thick mascara look of the usual SV headlight surrounds. :)

    :)

Hard to say why they ditched the eyelashes for sure, but, I imagine for the SV they want a new, sleeker, smoother look.

Steven, I am always very careful to leave the door open as regards definitive statements for the cars from that era of Lamborghini. Who is to say that someone didn't see Ferruccio's car and say: "Please do that for me too"... There is always the possibility that there are one or two others with the same finish that we haven't yet encountered. entirely possible as here are many SVs we have not seen in recent times.

Having said all that, I wont argue if you say this is the only one!

My question to you is, would you take a girl home if her eyes were full of thick mascara!!!! ;)

I heard many years ago that the reason for deleting the eyelashes was that the factory had simply run out of stock and that they were uneconomical to re-manufacture. Ferruccio had them fitted to his SV as "they belonged to the design"

Makes sense if you think about it as there is a lot of work in making the 4 eyelash pieces with each metal part being a different size.

It's a 1968 P400 chassis 3670 purchased at Coy's auction in 2006 by a HK collector. Original "Blu Miura" exterior with Senape interior. Restored by Colin Clarke and engine rebuilt by Bob Wallace.

It just won Best Coupe in HK's annual Classic Car Concours.

Perhaps the price is due to those rare SV tail lights seen here in their natural habitat...

    This car was originally RHD and was converted to LHD,was silver with Gold, I saw some pictures years ago when it was on the back of transporter after it had an engine fire {anyone got them?} it went to the US and was sold a few years back {think it is Australia being converted back to RHD and painted orange, but no proof, maybe Joe knows?}

Great to see the GTO book is finally arriving! It has been a long, but worthwhile wait.

Stephen, I dunno about its disposition presently, but, this was Roger Phillips' (the UK importer at one time) personal car when new or nearly new.
