So, after Mondipalooza, my clutch pedal was to the floor and so besides fixing the slave cylinder, I felt it was also a great time to have another major engine service. I brought my car to Algar. In the middle of the engine service I received a phone call asking me if it would be OK if they Classiche Certified "TSL GOOD", to which I responded, "Go for it!" I knew my car was highly original, but didn't know for certain how original. I believe a good friend called to make sure that Algar took good care of me. (Thank you Joe!) I was already spending good money for the major and they were going to do it as part of the major service. I believe they, as a dealer, need to do this so many times a year to maintain their accreditation. Anyhow, when I got the car back, I also received a hard drive with a ton of pics of my car which I thought I would share with you Mondial tifosi as I had no idea what was involved. And a lot of work goes into the Classiche Certification process. Now I'm not sure it will ultimately be certified, but at the moment, it really doesn't matter. I'm just going along for the ride. And I'm going to take you all on this journey with me. A learning experience for all I'm sure. I thought you'd be interested in this journey fellas. Here's a link about Classiche FYI.

Yes I think so too, but couldn't they have taken the tow hook off the car prior to sending the pics to Maranello!

Wow, your dealership is really high class - I like the stonework on the service bay :)

No worries Jay. The hook makes it look like your car was tested on "track".

    Cheers,

    Hank

I've often thought I would like to do this.
If I remember correctly, the cost was about $2500.00?

Congratulations Jay, did the dealer give you the supporting documentation: Red Binder, Special Badge, and Certificato di autenticita?
    Very cool buddy.

    Cheers,
    Mike

You don't get that until the car is approved by Maranello. If I read Jay's initial post correctly, the car is still under consideration, which can take months.

Fun! I wonder if my car would fail due to the SRI orange hoses?

My car is certified though. I certified that it ran yesterday. :D I've also already certified that it's in my garage this morning :D And it has been certified that I really love this car and enjoy driving it for any distance for any reason.

When PV Dirk states that he drives his "for any distance" we should all take him seriously!

Very cool Maarten. I cannot wait.

Thanks buddy. Your Mondi is way more deserving of this than mine. Mine is clearly a driver as you can tell from the pics, which I was almost embarrassed to post as the underbelly of the car looks like it went through a hurricane. Your t is amazing.

Ok, I've looked through the posts on this and can't seem to find how you do this.
does a Ferrari dealer have to do it or can we or an independent dealer do it?
    Thanks,
    Greg

Dealership only. There's only ten of them in the US that can do this. Here's one.
