Speaking of the Nurburgring, it seems to me that if you are in Europe and have a GT3 RS, circulating around the 'Ring is compulsory... Some of the examples I've had the pleasure to photograph, two of which being in Puerto Rico. I've always been a massive fan of the GT3 and RS variants, I feel any true car enthusiast should be able to recognize the mystique and purity of these 911's. Killer post...thanks for finding/ sharing this info. I have a low miles Grey/ Black 2010 RS with what I believe to be...every option. I purchased it used and the MSRP was higher than any other car I had previous come across. I added this car to my small Porsche hoard. Sits next to a Slate Grey/ Red 67s and a White/ Black 89 Speedster. Yes, I will post pics. I am going to add a 94 Speedster and maybe a 73RS. The 10/11 GT3RSes are already increasing in value. Most collectors will probably agree that these cars will be excellent long term buy and holds. (as much as a car can be). I had a 09 Scuderia before this car...the Scuderia was wonderful but the paddles got boring. As perfect as the F1 Trans in the Scuderia is...its still basically an automatic. I had 2 Lambos as well...one was a 2011 SL. Same result...paddles = boring...sold. It appears the new GT3 is going for a broader audience. It will attract a different kind of buyer. I would consider one as a driver for example....I would be stunned and amazed if they became collectibles like the previous versions. Same thing happened with ferraris....430s...458s....wonderful used cars that will continue to lose value. For ME the experience of having toys is greatly enhanced when they don't lose value. Thus my little hoard.
I recently heard about the one-off PTS Birch Green (color code 253) GT3 RS WP0AC2A92BS783592 for the USA that was delivered through Porsche San Diego. Apparently it has almost $25,000 in Exclusive options ($24,470) making it one of the most expensive GT3 RS. A $1,700 factory book documents the car's build. Excellent post, please share pics when you can! Clearly the Mk2 GT3 RS is special but nobody needs to tell you that now! Its purity & simplicity are in sharp contrast to many contemporary Supercars. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Joe...the brochures etc. Any place to purchase in addition to ebay? You posted pics of books etc that I haven't seen before. That sort of stuff is wonderful to have...
Indeed, I say collect as much as you can. Unfortunately we are down to EBay now. I think even the peripheral stuff on the men behind the machine is interesting, the Mezger book (variations of) particularly. Image Unavailable, Please Login

My favourite 997 GT3 RS is the MKI gen (2008) in the Silver/Orange colour configiration equipped with the OEM rollcage painted in orange and PCCB. Like this! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Fantastic! A standard Mk1 livery. Here is a 4.0 in the same livery, except without graphics. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks for the links Joe...a little early Christmas shopping for myself is in order Over the years I have accumulated various older 911 parts. They have all increased in value. I went to sell a set of H1 headlights that I had in storage...I think I paid $350 for them and they sold in a day for $1500. I also have a set of 73RS side decos in the barn...who knows what those are worth. Point is..modern OE RS parts will be a good long term buy and hold assuming you have the space and patience. Lots of guys made their 997 RSes into track cars. Many changed suspension bits etc to aftermarket. I see many changed their central hub to lugs. All those bits are worth hoarding...along with brochures. When restoring our 67S I discovered guys with massive old Porsche parts collections. One fella I recall had literally 50-ish OE FUCHS sitting in a mud pile. On closer inspection 2 were real honest to God 7Rs. Those are worth $3500 for 2. Good thing for him I told him... Again, great post.
