    Things can quickly go wrong when flying in formation.

    I assume somebody didn't do the "clearing turns" they were suppose to do.

    Nothing like having another plane's propeller in the vicinity of people jumping out of an airplane.

    Yikes. Somebody has got some explaining to do to the FAA I think.

    It's difficult for me to understand how the overtaking pilot could collide with an airplane that he knew was somewhere in front of him and why he had positioned his airplane in a place that blinded his view. Even if they were going to do some kind of formation drop he should have had the other airplane in sight all the time. Yes, the FAA will do some serious chatting with this guy.

    There are already concise and standing rules for formation flying. People have to learn them and use them.
