How much thicker is the 360 OEM steering wheel vs the 355 OEM steering wheel if any? Likewise how much thicker if any is the 360 CS wheel? Has anyone here used MCarbon? While I'm not a big fan of the 355 steering wheel shape I would consider keeping it if I can have it rebuilt so that it is thicker (preferably all black leather, no carbon fiber). It would also save me from having to buy a new 360 airbag for $$$.

So glad I did it. I found one on ebay with the airbag for $1250 and worth every penny. It's a different driving experience. Thicker at 10 & 2, but smaller overall radius.

Seeing the wheels side by side is very helpful, thanks. I didn't know the diameter was smaller.

Best thing I ever did to my car. I was going to do the Macarbon thing (thicker 355 wheel) but in the end I found a 360 wheel and airbag.

The good thing about that is that I still have the standard 355 wheel which will go back on if I ever sell the car, and then I can sell the 360 wheel separately. It's a win-win.

Really looks good...I don't want to pay out the nose for a new airbag but I might have to. Wheels are available, airbags are not.

Hang in there. The airbags do come up from time to time.
Buying a new one is hideously expensive.

BTW, that interior is beautiful Steve. I'm afraid you reinstalled the new wheel on the wrong side however ;) Are the lighter hides difficult to keep clean?

    Lol! Thanks :)
It's not difficult to keep looking good, although of course it does show up any dirt a lot more than the darker shades. But having said that I think the creases and cracks show less than on, say, black leather.

I've got to buy some good leather products for it but not sure which way to go. There seem to be as many opinions as there are products!
So far I've just been using a gentle cleaner and leather cream (not even sure what brand but nothing special) but I must get the good stuff soon and do it properly...

Beautiful wheel at an unbelievable price. Airbags alone are about $3600 new.

Do anybody know if the 355 airbag will fit in the 360 steering wheel? Thanks

Of all the non-mechanical upgrades that I've done to my car, the 360 steering wheel still remains my favorite one... significantly different driving experience and it really does look 100x better than the stock one!

Absolutely love my 360CS wheel, highly recommended mod. And, no, the 355 airbag will not fit.

I agree 1000% with everyone here, that upgrading the steering wheel is probably the single best modification you can do to the F355 as its one of the few pieces that the driver is constantly interacting with throughout the drive....

I went with a Carbon Fiber MoMo wheel...
Swapping to another wheel or back to stock takes all of 5 minutes...

What is involved with switching the wheel?

    Is it a big deal?
What about the airbag and accidental deployment?
Are there certain bolt patterns that you need?

    Thanks,

Not a big deal at all. Turn battery off to prevent accidental deployment, same bolt pattern as OEM wheel. 10 minute job. The big deal is finding a 360 airbag at a reasonable price. I bought my wheel & airbag from the guy who bought TurboRon's car. He wanted to go back to stock for some reason.

F1 cars have certain special issues? (despite the usual?) :)

+1 on the Stradale wheel. The PO put one in my car so it's the only way I've ever felt a 355. From the first second it fit like my hands like a glove.

No issues putting the 360 wheel in my F1

Best thing I've done to the car.

My evolution is complete! Went from the 355 stock steering wheel... to the 360... to the 360 CS. A huge difference between the 355 and 360 steering wheels... almost as big a difference between the 360 and 360 CS. FWIW, if I didn't get such a great deal on the 360 CS steering wheel, I think the upgrade to the stock 360 steering wheel gives you the most bang for the $!

Nice. Love the CS wheel. One day will upgrade from the standard 360 wheel myself.

Presumably you'd defray some of the cost by selling the normal 360 wheel?
And the normal 360 airbag fits the CS wheel?

BTW, where'd you get the carbon paddles from?

I probably will sell the 360 steering wheel to offset the cost... and the standard 360 airbag is the correct airbag for the CS. I purchased the CF paddles eight years ago on eBay for $209. I liked them because they are about the exact same size and shape as the stock metal ones.
