Count me as potential "in".
I don't think anyone has studied performance of the S Line...even then I think HP changes are going to be nominal and hardly felt by your butt dyno. The design is unique and some may argue about restriction of airflow vs free air flow. As far as materials, ceramic coating would obviously be advantageous for heat. Mine are currently being installed...
Hugh is going to do before/after dyno pulls, and I am as well if Dave can get up here with my new pipes and on boostcreep's dyno before it snows. That way we can at least have actual numbers...hard to say whether my butt felt anything when I am so intoxicated by the noise coming out the thing I could go to a pull on Harvey's dyno now, but all it would be is the 'after' and we have no baseline up here at altitude on the scud I don't think (almost definitely not on that dyno), so it wouldn't really tell us much (outside of non-boosted motors are less powerful at a mile up )
Mine is on!!! My first quick impressions are this (keep in mind, I'm in a 16M - soft top): I ordered mine ceramic coated black. Finish is nice but fitment was a challenge. Some of the flanges of the pipes were not true round and Eugenio had to work hard to adjust the pipes to get them to fit. Compared to my previous stock exhaust with valves open..... I didn't think it was too loud. I almost thought at lower RPM it was quieter than unplugged stock exhaust. This could be because there is NO drone in comparison. Wow was there much more drone with stock exhaust unplugged. The tone is F1 high pitched as expected - glorious symphony. Stock exhaust sounded too low pitched unless you were at WOT 8000 RPM. The exhaust note is very responsive to the throttle. The more throttle you add, the louder and higher pitched the exhaust note. Cruising at low RPM, the exhaust sounded surprisingly quiet to me. In cabin, the S line sound sounds much more contained and "behind" you. I always felt the unplugged stock exhaust was loud in the cabin. Again this could partially be due to drone. In cabin, the S line is not terribly loud. However, I was outside filming my installer pulling the car around, and observing the car from the Outside, it sounded LOUD! So far that's all I have - was a short drive home. I'll be shooting some vid this wknd. A BIG thank you to Eugenio for doing the install. He is the best!!!
Also interested. Currently replacing the headers as they started to fail with the full fabspeed performance package (coated headers, sport cats, tune and intakes). Was going to start off with the stock exhaust, but I'd consider a titanium s-line.
I'll get the GB data up this weekend - promise. Was trying to get pricing for the Titanium option Not sure if that's going to be a reality or not.
Edward, I noticed in another thread that you and your wife took a long drive in the 16M. I was wondering how the exhaust was? Any issues with drone or complaints from you and your wife? Thanks!
Sorry guys, had a busy weekend....didn't have time to really vid. Well follow up was, yes, wife and I took a weekend trip to the beach in the 16M - top was down and it does sound awesome. Higher pitched as we all know. Again, very throttle responsive and sound is proportional to RPM/throttle input. Above 5000 RPM it screams!!! When driving conservative, to me it sounds quiet. Here's a prelim vid on day the exhaust was installed and Eugenio is pulling my car around. I really need to do some fly bys. Ferrari Scuderia 16M S line exhaust - YouTube
Sorry, been tied up with other distractions and we are doing before and after dyno pulls on Tuesday so I was going to post everything together. Bu so-as not to be a tease - Basically shooting for: minimum of 5 units, max of 8 (otherwise they may not get em built in time for mid-December shipping) Unfinished stainless -$3,800, Ceramic coated -$3,900, Polished -$4,000...$1k deposit to secure your system and they will be out the door by the 15th of Dec. I have only done this once before (with sport Quattro carbon parts) and it was a nightmare, so if anyone wants me to go shoot pics of progress or whatever, I am happy to do so. (Sherpa knows those guys too - they did his F40 exhaust - he may would do so as well ).
Well the regular page is here - S-Line Motorsports Scuderia XXX-Pipe But I have to get it edited for the group buy specifically.
I think plastique had some fitment issues. Hope it gets sorted out as to not have a troublesome install..........
I have the ceramic coating on as well. It was snug, but easy enough to fit (comparatively speaking especially) and sounds like all is well on the Plastique side? I still didnt get the cart re-done. I know several of you guys are waiting on me (as is Tufty )...I will not let other work get in the way today. This will be complete tonight to take deposits and orders.
Done. S-Line Motorsports Scuderia XXX-Pipe I am no web designer But pretty sure it's good to go - you can use the coupon code 'HolidayGroupBuy_XXXPipe' in the cart to get the discount applied and I gave an option of a deposit or pay-in-full. Lemme know if y'all have any issues.
Well, I throw it out there to just let people know it may not be an easy fit...aftermarket parts sometimes have different fitment. My installer, Eugenio, had to work quite a bit sand blasting and bending the flanges of the pipes to get it to fit - that is just our experience. Image Unavailable, Please Login
