Carolyn and I want to remind everyone (from last years post) the the 9th annual FCA-DFW Toy Run will be held on the 14th of December. We currently have the termination place secured and we are pretty sure of the start place. We are working on the logistics of the early morning coffee and snacks and the lunch spot. It looks as though the run is about 100 miles so make sure those steeds are tuned up, gassed up and ready to roll.

As usual I will need to know your intentions if you plan to attend as maps must be printed and the restaurant needs a head count. Also if you reserve a place please tell us if you will have a navigator or not-again for the head count, but also there may be a couple of kiddos that have had a curve ball thrown at them in life and a ride in a Ferrari or other exotic would be a big event for them.

You folks always turn out in big numbers with a huge donation so let's do it again this year!:)
Let's see if we can top this

I am in as always. Alicia as a navigator. I don't mind giving a few kiddos ride. Lord knows when I was a kid that would have made my year.

Just a clarification; Most of you already know this but there is no restriction of what you drive on this event. You may bring a Nitrous Oxide, fire breathing whatever or a Yugo with a front bumper trailer hitch. The objective is to gather as many toys and or cash donations for the kiddos. So tell all of your friends where to be on the 14th of Dec.

Does anyone have a 1 3/4" ball on their back bumper? Asking, uh, for a friend.

    Hi Don,

Just to let you know, I posted the invitation to the local Alfa Romeo owners club. Garrick will probably do the same thing for the ICCSW, if he has not already done so. Lets hope for good weather, smooth roads and lots of toys.

    Take care,

    Jeff

If work doesn't interfere, I will be there +1. As for kiddos, I definitely don't mind giving rides, and I don't mind letting them take pics inside the car.

Carolyn and I loaded up the Ferrari Badged Explorer with maps, notes and cameras on Sunday and started to map out the route. Our first surprise was that the parking lot that we had intended to use for the start had now had all of the entrances chained, so there was no possible access. We think we have found a better place and will investigate that option next Sunday.
The run as we did it on Sunday was a heck of an FCA run, but I don't know if it will work for the Toy Run as it has some pretty fast sections and some pretty raucous sections and it is about 110 miles long. Oh and it did have one section of road under construction--so I guess it does qualify for a Toy Run route. In any event after returning to the Casa and mulling over the maps with a glass of Woodford Reserve we have come up with another route. We will run that route next Sunday and see how it works. It may also have a few raucous areas in it to try out the handling on your car but it probably won't be as long.
I will post a list later this week. We have secured a restaurant at the end and the Termination place is also pretty cool. To whet your appetite here are a few pictures of what you can expect on the run.

Has the start time/place been determined?
I have a few people who have shown interest in attending, but were asking for that info.

Last weekend we found our proposed start place chained up. We are looking a two new places and hopefully we will have that info by this Sunday. There is always drama when it comes to planning this event.

This weekend the Ferrari badged Explorer ventured yet again into the hinterlands of N. Texas in search of a slightly shorter route for the Toy Run--mission accomplished. We now have a start place, a route, a destination and a restaurant. I will post additional infomation this week as I have a FCA event on which I need to tie up a few strings.
