Selling a stunning 1993 Mondial T, one of the last built, and probably the only blue Valeo Cabriolet built (30 Valeos believed to be out there). 48K miles. Rare Chiaro blue with blue carpets and tan leather.
Mint condition throughout, everything works as it should (except the right side power mirror), no leaks, no issues, runs like a clock. All lights work, power windows faster than average, etc.
Original top looks like new, body is perfect.
Last major done about 3 years ago, not sure how many miles ago that was.
Just added the 348 wheels, chrome shift knob, aluminum gas cap. Also has clear bra protection, CD player, blue mats, tan leather boot cover, owner's manual with leather pouch, and 2 sets of keys. Priced for quick sale at $32K OBO. I was going to make this car my daily driver until a Porsche came up. I already have another blue 93' Ferrari anyway.

This car is exactly what I would be looking for if I was in the market for another Mondial. A T with valeo in blue. I thought it would be impossible to find, and you got it!!

Since its less than a half hour away and I've had a Mondial t Cab before I thought it would be nice to check out Stephane's Valeo t and meet another f-Chatter. First of all Stephane is a very nice person; happy to spend some time with a fellow enthusiast on a Sunday morning. For anyone considering this car it presents very well. I can't speak to the mechanicals as I didn't ask for a test ride in the rain, but its hard to believe this has 20 years and 48K miles on it. The only issue noticeable was a off color touch up on the driver's side bolster. The 348 wheels are a visual upgrade (in my opinion) from the stock convex "star" units. The Blu Chiaro color is striking! My last t was a Blu Sera which was nice but quite dark in pictures. This has more of a Blue Mirabel look to it. Very unique car, unique color and unique clutch. If you like a horse of a different color, this is your car.

Beautiful car. It would be a serious temptation if it only had that third pedal. GLWS

Yes, but the Valeo tranny is a clutchless manual - or more properly a clutch PEDAL-less manual. It has a different clutch actuating mechanism, so it's kinda like precursor of modern F1-style road car transmissions.

Being new to this, there is no clutch? I've never driven one like this, so how does it work?

It has an actual clutch assembly, but not a clutch pedal... in these types of transmissions, you shift gears manually, just like a regular fully-manual transmission, but there is no clutch pedal. Sensors that trigger when you change gears actuate an electro-mechanical system that activates the clutch assembly to disengage & engage accordingly.

Again, kinda like the more modern F1 paddle-shift transmissions, but those have hydraulics involved, and I don't believe the Valeos incorporated that - from what I understand about those, it was strictly electro-mechanical (I'm sure someone here will correct me if I'm wrong).

Thanks guys. It sounds like a rare car he has there. Not many around with that kind of tranny , is it because of tranny problems or what?

Thanks for the link. I'm not trashing this car, only want to know why there were so fewmade. Interesting concept, and as a first time looker, I want to get the most reliable one I can find.

AFAIK, the seller has a good reputation here, has sold several cars to F-chatters, so if you might be interested in this particular one, I would simply ask him all about it.

Possibly the prettiest Mondial I've seen. Love the 348s and the colour.

I asked for more pictures, but I guess its too cold out in Las Vegas to take them. Too cold? I guess he's not in a hurry to sell it. Oh well, I'll keep looking.

Car is in Savannah, Georgia. Haven't taken it to Vegas yet but when I do it won't be for sale. You're right, not in a hurry to sell it either. I am torn, not sure if I want to let it go.

No, it is in fact for sale, but I really want this car to stay in the FChat community as I didn't advertize it anywhere else. I would also encourage anyone interested to come see it in person. Pictures don't do this car any justice. When I have the time to take the car out and put the top down I will, but that won't make the sale, touching it and driving it will. This is a very special car, not your average run of the mill Mondial, hence my hesitance in letting it go. I am just not desperate, specially being this time of the year and at my asking price. I will let it go to the right buyer however.
