A true car enthusiast. He will be missed. David B. Seizer Obituary: View David Seizer's Obituary by Los Angeles Times
David was one of the most memorable members of the DFW group, meticulous to detail as always, trying keep his mileage low. I'll post more photo as I find them. I'm sure it was a struggle but he never let it show... He always had a smile and a great attitude. Neat guy, he is missed.
Thanks for the pics Will. I always wanted to buy his cars once he was done with them, timing was never right, they were always perfect with low / no miles. He would call me every year before the Heights car show and ask for a spot away from any possible tree sap issues. He kept the cars impeccable.
Those that ever gave him a joshing (myself included) about his fastidiousness soon realized, it wasn't just some sort of cleanliness quirk... He would chuckle when people gave him a hard time, but you could see in his eyes... It was about the art of the design and manufacturing. He really did appreciate the cars as beautiful works of Art.
P.S. I think it would be a neat idea to have the "David Seizer Award" for the best detail job at all future DFW Ferrari Community car shows
That sounds like an excellent idea. Another note about David was that he was a holdout for three-pedal manual transmissions for years - all the way up to his California (the first paddle shifter that I knew him to own).
That's so sad to hear. I had many chats with him over the years and enjoyed them all. I have lots of pictures of my kids sitting in his cars, he was very generous with them even with his attention to detail perfection. I will miss him.
Never heard of or knew of David. I would say very sad, but after reading his obituary he lived a great life and lived every minute and sounds like he touched lots of lives. Those are all things to celebrate. My prayers and best wishes go out to all his family and friends.
David was a special friend who shared his passion of cars. He had a tough battlle with health issues for the last few years. He will be sorely missed, but I'm sure he's in a better place now.
I am sad to hear of David's struggle and his passing. Every time he saw me he greeted me with a smile, and a willingness to chat.
He always called Bob about ICF - sap was the first concern, shade second. He wanted details on the types of trees. I think it was one of the lake shows where he came by after he arrived and told us how honored we should be that he was there (or something like that) since it had sprinkled on him on the way over. I think that was with the Murci roadster. What a character. RIP
David will certainly be missed by many.......he had a true gift for conversation. RIP David We all knew David to be a perfectionist in everything he did and his passion for cars was incredible. Best wishes to Patty and the rest of the Seizer family.
David a unique guy, very passionate about wife, house, and cars as I knew him and evidently that had made him very successful in business before then. He was a pleasure to be around at events. RIP.
I'm going to keep adding photos of David periodically as I find them, this was taken race day at the USGP with the Rose's at Indianapolis back in 2006. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I did not have the pleasure of meeting him. But from the comments he seemed to touch everyone's lives in a special way. Godspeed sir. As for the award , I think that is a GREAT idea. Just a idea, we could see if his wife would present it to the winner. Though, I never had the pleasure he was "ONE OF US".
