I haven't been on FerrariChat in a while.
So I was surfing around the 360 forum.
Read where the defroster vents can get sticky.

So I went in the garage to check the vents on mine.

Reached in with my left hand and the crystal from my watch scratched the inside of my windshield.

    Grrrr!

3/4" scratch right in front of driver's seat.
Damn FerrariChat! How could you do this to me?
    Defroster vents are fine.

Any suggestions on how to hide/remove the scratch?

Some windshield repair places know how to fix scratches really well. I would call around.

    Karma.

This hasn't happened to the regulars.

    Coincidence?

    I think not.

    Well, there you go.

Seriously though, if it is a slight scratch, try Harley Davidson Scratch and Swirl Polish. Otherwise, as DesertDawg said, some windshield replacement firms can fix these.

In Rossa Subscribed they clearly tell you to take your timepiece off before checking.

There's a really thin epoxy they use, as I understand it, and that's what fills in cracks (and keeps them from getting larger), and can also cover scratches so that you can't even see them or maybe barely see them if you look real close... it's a combination of materials & skill in application. If they know how to do it right, you can't even tell.

I had a windshield rock strike once that I was able to get fixed, and the repair turned a star plus a couple-inch crack on two sides of it, into about a 1/8" diameter section that you could only tell was a repair if you looked real close.

They fill it, they polish it... done.

The nearly new windshield on my Porsche got scratched when some crackhead broke the window of the car next to mine and a tiny piece of their window landed on my wiper blade.

I tried machine polishing it with a random orbital and special windshield polishing pads, and abrasive windshield polish. Even though it's a hairline scratch, the polish had zero impact on the scratch. I just try to ignore it. On the plus side, a Boxster windshield is about $350 installed (Sekurit: same brand as OEM).

Well at least the crackhead went for the car next to yours.

Wish I could afford rossa. In silver we get Priuses. :(

buy a Ferrari watch from the Ferrari online store. Your windshield would have scratched the watch.

Which reminds me, Rob can you remind people to top up the F40 when bringing it back for the next guy? I know there was a suggestion on raising the Silver Subscription a few bucks so Rossa members could get a gas card. That F40's one thirsty car!

I found an easy way to solve that problem. I bought my own F40 that I keep loaded up with gas and then downgraded my subscription to Silver. So now I use the Silver Prius whenever it's my turn and, for some strange reason, the darn thing hardly ever needs gas.

    See? Problem solved!

Ok it may sound strange, but it works!

I had some scratches in a back window a few years ago. I knew a photocopier tech, and he said he used SILVER POLISH to remove scratches from photocopier glass. I tried it, and it worked!

Don't wear jewelry when working on cars, period!
If you've got long hair, tie it up when around moving parts.
No screwdriver's in the back pocket, then hoppin' into the seats :(
    C'mon guys…you know the drill :D
