$300 OFF until 12/08 or until supplies last.

Regular $2299.99, now $1999.99 including shipping.

Dannmar MaxJax? 2-post Portable Auto Lift

The ad states you need to provide for a means to unload the unit from the truck. I called the number given to arrange special delivery requirements, and it turns out it is the number for Dannmar, the manufacturer. They told me that Costco provides lift gate service to unload the unit and that is included in the above cost.

Caution: I've seen this movie several times before, not with Costco though. You arrange and pay for lift gate service for a delivery to your home, construction site, or whatever because you don't have a commercial loading dock.

But, even though you've already paid the extra fee, the item shows up on a regular truck. The driver simply shrugs his shoulders and says, "Oh, I was supposed to get a lift gate truck this morning, but it was out of service".

There are several ways to deal with this last minute disappointing discovery, none of them very good.

Well I'll find out in 3 days....it was shipped same day.
Interestingly, Costco's description states you need to arrange for off loading and I called the number provided. The distributor who actually ships it told me it would be lift gate service, dropped where I want it within reason......stay tuned.

So tempting!!!!! My garage would need a little re-working to actually use it but I will have one of these one day. Thanks for posting!

I'd be tempted but won't have a garage to put it in until Jan.

The MaxJax is pretty small, there really should be no issues on delivery. Cut the 2 straps, undo the 4 bolts holding the column to the bracket and unload the column, do the same for the other column and then its all small parts that you just unload. Bet it takes less than 15 minutes total and if the driver helps even less time (they ususally don't help). Its not like the big 4-posts where you have to have lifgate since it will take over an hour to dismantle and unload the big 4-posts.

I am lucky, I drove down with my car trailer for the 4-post and the MaxJax, so no delivery issues for me :)

I installed the 4-post in the garage and my MaxJax out in the driveway so you don't need a garage, just enough room in the garage to store the 2 posts and power unit. Takes me about 10 minutes to install the MaxJax and another 10 to remove it when the job is done.

Mike, I was thinking of setting an extra set of anchors into the driveway...when you are not using the lift out there, do you place any set screws or cover the anchor holes in any way?

Looking to put one of these in the coming year at the next house.

For those with them, do you like them overall? Seems like all the reviews I read are positive.

Yes, I purchased plastic set screws (5/8" - 11) from McMaster and put them in to keep most of the water and dirt out, not sure if its needed but I feel better that way. I also purchased a spare set of anchors for inside the garage but never set it up since I have a 4-post in the garage.

I love my MaxJax, its gotten much more use than my 4-post for actually working on the car, my 4-post is more of a storage lift now that I have the MaxJax. For long term (lots of hours under the car) work like pulling a transmission, I will continue to the use the 4-post since I can stand under it but for everything else I use the MaxJax. At first it would take a while to set up and tear down but now I do it pretty quickly, not a problem at all. Only issue i have had with the MaxJax is leaky quick connectors but I am told the newer ones have better connectors and I have not called them to replace mine as they don't leak very much, just enough to make a tiny mess.

So as a follow-up, the lift arrived today, a mere 6 days after placing the order. As promised, it was delivered on a lift gate truck and the driver was kind enough to place it in the garage.

Hopefully, installation will go as smoothly as delivery.

Very nice. Please keep us up to date on installation, etc. I'd like to see some real world pictures of it as well.

While there are already lots of threads on the internet regarding installing these, I do intend to document my process and post it here. I am having someone come in tomorrow to see about converting my door to a high lift system with a side mount opener. While I could raise my 430 the way my garage is set up now, I would only be able to do so with the garage door closed.
