Cry for V8s. Hope that the domination is over, I want to see Vettel and Kimi fight for their wins.

 

The whole V6 turbo thing was a ruse by all the teams to combat the RB dominance. Next year RB will show up with their goofy little motor, and all the other teams will whip out their V8s.... "psych!!!"

F1 very much needs a breathe of fresh air. My boss was having a convo with me over lunch, and he mentioned that he just quit watching F1 2 years ago.

He cited Vettel dominance for making the sport boring, and it's like nothing can be done against him.

 

The new rules looks like they're removing the rear downforce which has been what Redbull has had all season long. I'm super excited for Aus next year

But I'm ready to watch Sao Paulo first.

 

1. More power
2. More tire
3. Less aero

Wake me when they get a clue.

Shuffle the deck as you will, the teams with the money, brains and first rank drivers will most likely succeed.
Next season is still RB's to lose.

 

You all know this, I'm no seb fan but I really don't mind his domination. I just wish there was more challenge / fighting involved in his victories. And that can only happen if Newey bungles on the 2014 car or the other teams make a breakthrough with theirs...either way I hope there will be more drivers in the mix next year vs vettel racing himself and the best of the rest having their own little squabble.

 

I can't help wondering if the whining about it all being *so* boring would be as loud if Fred had taken the last 8? [Or, in Fpiloto's case, Nico or MerHam. Or Krafty & the Woking crew ]

That the championship is sewn up by "someone" by the midpoint doesn't impact my enjoyment of watching it at all.... [Dons flamesuit ]

They're all doing their own thing. They've gotta design 'em, build 'em and race 'em. As long as they remain the fastest thing around a road course, I'll continue to follow 'em.

Sure, KI disappearing into the sunset is getting old, but there's been *many* championships decided early in the year over history. "That's F1 folks!" Always been that way and always will be......

Again, "always been that way, always will be".

The idea that folk don't attend (or even watch on the box) due to one guy "dominating" is anathema to me! They're just not real fans of, and lack an understanding of, the sport IMESHO.

Hell yeah! While I truly hope Newey does a blue Clifford and KI is struggling for points next year, I'll still be following the whole mess....

Nope. I got bored during the 2001 and 2004 seasons, and that's with my all time favorite driver and all time favorite team doing the dominating. When there is no competition it's like watching a scrimmage between two football teams. Interesting enough to watch the players but there is nothing at stake and I lose interest.

 

Fair enough. Again, we beg to differ.

I do however disagree that it's analogous to a scrimmage. There's still *lots* at stake outside of the titles IMO - Witness poor Valssechi (sp?) being passed over in Lotus' quest for a few more points. Or the huge "win" for Frank by scoring a few more points. Or Fred once again driving his heart out. Etc.

As I said before, sure, KI disappearing into the sunset is getting very old, but even with little overtaking I still enjoy it. I just don't need it going down to the wire every season to maintain my love of what they're all doing.

I'm almost more disappointed in how boring qualifying is. It used to be really exciting (sometimes more exciting than the races), now it's a formality.
