The Original Ferrari V8 book is on Amazon from a seller named Total Books for $25.00, plus shipping, for a new copy. I was surprised to see this low price.

 

If you want it, buy it. That's really cheap, mine sold on eBay UK for over £100

Looks like this one was too good to be true. I received notice of refund today from Amazon. Reason: "Notes: We cancelled your order because you purchased the item before we could remove our stock from Amazon. We are sorry but these incidents are unavoidable because seller inventory is not real time and needs to be uploaded several times a day."

Funny, because the books also showed as shipped on my Amazon account status page.

Guess it was worth a try anyway.

 

I had the same thing happen the other day on ebay while trying to order the Ferrari Serial Numbers Manual: The Raab Files - Revisited from England. $17.99 shipped.

It went up to $99 for those who ordered, Hope you guys get yours. I already have one, bought it when it was $35 at Barnes & Nobles. I would have order another one this time but I was too late for the Tues. special of $25

 

Got the same email today. Oh well. Live and learn.

 

Mine says shipped. So we will see.

 

Orders at the lower price were canceled. Seems Amazon has gone down the bait and switch route like eBay.

Went to check on my copy of this book, and the sticker/barcode on it says I paid USD$34.95 from Motorbooks a couple of years ago. I can't think of any reason why would they be charging USD200 or so including taxes and S & H, this is almost 5 times what I have paid.

 

probably has something to do with supply & demand

 

For those who ordered the book, have you receive it yet?

 

I ordered it and got the same email as the others a few days after being informed it was dispatched.

 

Never seen ths before from these guys-funny thing is I was just about to order one when I got distracted and I forgot to go back in and grab it!

 

I got the same answer as all of you. It's been a long time I haven't shopped at Amazon due to a previous problem. I made an exception this time, it seems that even if you want to buy something you don't get it...well, we knew it was too good to be true...

 

The problem is not Amazon itself, but rather Total Books, who are selling on Amazon. Instead of grumbling among ourselves, why are all of the dissatisfied buyers here not leaving negative feedback for this seller on Amazon? All you need to do is log onto Amazon, click on "your account", go to "your orders", and click on the "leave seller feedback" link on the right.

Complaining is all fine and good, but unless it has some sort of negative impact on the guilty party, it is also rather pointless.

 

When this post was started, there was also a UK seller, Marble Apple Models who had a s/h version of the book for sale for 19GBP.
I bought it and received it today.
I'm very happy with their service!

PS The Dutch version of this book regularly sells for about €30.
