I was offered the following: 89 930 Red/ Black Slant nose (Factory) Loads of other options I have never seen before. 15k miles $100k asking Anyone have any idea what these things are actually worth? A slant wouldn't be my first choice however this car has me thinking.... Anyone?
If it's a real 15K car and original, it should be in like-new showroom condition, all original and all there. If it's been modified, the modifications should be documented. If that's the car you want (and you know what you are buying), a perfect 505 Slant may well require $100K to purchase these days.
its all of that...near perfect stored properly....and is all original and fully documented. Thanks for the info. Much appreciated.
1). Car-sitting-forever recommisioning may be in order. $$. Long fast test drive may reveal problems. 2). Check Hagarty value tool, add x% for M505 3). Car sounds epic, any pics?
OK. Hagarty says $68k for a #1 '89 930. I believe these are actual selling (vs. asking) prices. Is the 505 worth $30k? Not so sure. And this is assuming a no-needs car, which is doubtful unless recommisioning already done. I'd offer $80-85k assuming clean PPI, paint meter test, and test drive. Any more $ is based on how much you have to have it.
Hi guys, please help me understand if there is something "fishy" about this car. Serial number WP0JB0939GS050065 1986 with 60k miles and Buy it now price on ebay of $38k What am I missing? Porsche 911 Turbo Carrera Coupe 2 Door | eBay thanks.
Perhaps. But to clarify, asking and selling figures are quite different. Another source for actual selling prices is Sports Car Market auction results database. You need a platinum membership to access however. Another bit of reality is the three really nice 930s listed at the dealer below. I believe they've been there the better part of a year or more. http://www.velocityporsches.com/inventory.html
thanks for all the intel. I am going to chat with the owner this week and offer him in the 80s. I don't love the slant nose...or the color. I do love the condition and understand that finding a car like this is 1/1,000,000. Low miles cars are always worth more.... As far as Hagerty goes. Their price guide is off. I have other Porsches and track values. As an example I have a 89 Speedster. 4k. Perfect. I have personally seen like cars selling for significantly more than the Hagerty guide. I know for a fact that 5 sold this year in the mid-100s to upper $100s. Its as worthless as Zillows Z-Estimate. I suspect that Hagerty ONLY publishes the reported prices that their insured customers report. Small pool of data at best.
$100K is reasonable if everything is as you describe. 930 prices are really on the move at high velocity. Slant is a very specialized example, however, if it is not to your taste, keep looking...
If you are not interested in it, I have a friend who is looking for a slant nose and wants something in this criteria.
if you don't like the color or slant keep looking. there are other low mile 930s out there for the same money.
Ran across this on Pelican. 19K mi. for $79,900. No affiliation. 1979 930 only 19k miles.... - Pelican Parts Technical BBS I'm starting to see a few nice under 30K mile cars showing up.
I saw that one.....very nice. The slant is still on my radar. He is in no rush to sell.....and he wont jack up the price on me. I am still talking myself into the slant vs non... Tim
