Its sad that all this rude and annoying behavior simply chases away the ppl that have an opportunity to provide any real information and feedback of what these hypercars can truly deliver. Why bother when you just get dumped on. Seriously its not worth the effort.

Mark: I have found your post to be genuine, informative and constructive to proper discussion here. As I have followed the development and roll out of these amazing vehicles the Ring has always been of interest to me. My sources were also fairly certain that McLaren would in fact release a time right up till Trott's EVO statements. I would guess that you were as surprised as I. For some of our forum members to interpret McLaren's course change as a challenge to your enthusiasm and credibility is improper.

I think the guys were just giving Mark a little ribbing - attack is too strong a word. The way McLaren did their sudden about face about the whole Ring thing, it was bound to happen especially to the most avid of P1 fans. Enthusiasm is what keeps us coming back to these forums and I certainly can identify with Mark's even though I root for the LaF to beat the P1.

Can someone please point out any kind of "attack" that was made on Mark?

In the sports commentating world, he would be best compared with a "homer"

Conversely, one could say that fChat is full of "homers" for the brand out of Maranello. ;-)

As a future buyer I'm quite interested in this thread for several reasons:
    1.Porsche 918 is only €750k
2.Mclaren P1 is only €1,05Million and it's really close in performance to the LaFerrari. A dealer actually told me that it's the fastest of the three cars.
3.LaFerrari (my favorite out of the 3) costs 1,7M ...So you can actually buy the 918 AND P1 instead of a LaFerrari.

So my question is simple - Which car should I buy ?? :\

    Some more info:
As for performance the F12 Berlinetta is close to the 918 actually. So the price difference between the two (~€400k) pays for the looks and a slightly faster car. Ofcourse the porsche is better, but it costs 400k more...
Next, I really dont like the P1 interior...also the front. McLaren had issues with the MP12-C in the past so I'm not so convinced the P1 is as well built as the Ferrari. Another thing is the P1 doesn't have a differential so savage over-steering could result in loss of traction and control over the car like in the 12-C ....Next, we move on to the LaFerrari - Well, it has a differential so you could actually have some fun with it. The company claims the LaFerrari does 0-300km/h in 15sec, which is extremely fast. Also, the LaFerrari features that so loved Bumpy Road mode, which is quite comfortable...Why?? Because I DO consider driving one of these cars (whichever I pick) daily. Yes, DAILY....

    Please discuss, thanks

Well, if Ferrari haven't invited you to buy a LaFerrari yet you certainly won't be getting one, so you can cross that off your list.

According to reports the P1 is now sold out.

Looks like the Porsche is your only option.

    Hope that helps.

you cant Drive The lf everyday, it is just too impractical, allmost no luggagecompartement at all ( The Place under The front hood might Hold One Culture bag, Thats it), The interior is Not comfortable and Not roomey at all. i suggest, go for The porsche, for your needs The Best compromise of all. why Not get an f12? Tons of performance, and a very good dd Except for gasmileage. regards- e

I think the F12 looks better than the 918. But, I would probably buy a 918 before a F12 with price being no object.

I didn't realize who you were until I looked through your post history but I remember you now - aren't you also trying to decide whether your first Ferrari should be a 458 Italia, Speciale or an F12 with a ridiculous custom made body kit? Might as well consider a LaFerrari while you're at it.

I really wish the mods would ban some of these clowns.

Yeah, but I can't help myself thinking over again about this:

    918:
    0-100 = 3.1
    0-200 = 7.9
    0-300 = 23

    F12:
    0-100 = 3.1
    0-200 = 8.5
    0-300 = 23.4

+the F12 has luggage space like a new BMW 7 series...;(

    Like, Seriously???

For the Italia, Speciale, F12 or LaFerrari?

You wouldn't be able to post them in any case. You're not fooling anyone buddy, what you're doing is sad.

Your 918 figures are wrong cuonuct .
    0 to 60 : 2.5
    0to 200 : 7.2
    0 to 300 : 19.9

    Oh, thanx

Yeah, this looks a bit better actually :D
But still, not sure if the 400k are worth it...At least the car is smaller, which is something that I like...

One particular feature that I'm looking forward to is if the 918 can spit flames from its exhaust system...
I know the Aventador is quite capable of doing it, but just imagine those 918 exhausts on top of the car shooting flames...Would be cool as fucc.

Well, and at least with me, price is still important. If I were a single guy with no kids in college and no one to care for, then price may not be important. But right now, I am trying to decide whether to buy a very nice Superamerica or a 599. (Analog or digital?) I did recently drive a 16M, which was a beast. But I think I gotta stay with the V-12.

If you screw up the ignition timing on most cars, they will shoot flames.

Don't know about the 918 but the P1 injects fuel into the exhaust manifold under certain conditions so that is why you see blue flames

Yes, quite interesting. I remember them (Porsche team) saying that they had issues with the brakes at first due to the regenerative function and worked a lot to achieve a nice braking feel.

On a side note, I'm almost certain that the 918 feels in SOME way as a gt car, even if its a mid-rear engined one. In the end it's a Porsche and they are known for the comfort and every-day driveability their sports cars offer.
