I don't want to sound pedantic but there are loads of this type of misleading thread currently (eg who's driving where etc)

The story timed at 0000 UK is not 'official' - it merely expects the announcement to confirm soon

And at 0900 UK it was released & now official

Autosport has always been very reputable; if they report it, its good enough for me.....

Let's see what the future holds for Brawn now.

It's pretty late in the season to find an alternative position.

Maybe he will take a sabatical or retire from F1 altogether.

I assume that a year off is mandated by his MB contract.

Sad :/ MB won't have a 'team principle' as Brawn knows it, that's why he's leaving. I'm not bothered by that position and the current F1 management style as very possibly being outdated concepts. In business you change or die.

    I'm sure that's the case.

The ultimate fallout from the illegal tire test. As predicted.

Lauda is cleaning house with the big axe.

    Seems I can't either.

Not a question of letting go but rather actio et reactio.

That said one could argue that the tire test wasn't the main cause but rather the too many cooks in the kitchen syndrome and Lauda's power was bigger and hence he wins.

Cause quite frankly I don't think Brawn did the illegal tire test without the blessing of Lauda.

A few months ago I met with Bobby Rahal who couldn't be "co-chair" of the Jag team alongside Lauda. Seems we have a similar situation here.

It will be interesting to see where Brawn goes in a year from now: Honda, McLaren, Williams, Ferrari?

I would suspect that to be the case. On another note Honda has stated that their f1 engines will be built in Japan but maintained/serviced at a facilty in Milton Keynes.

Since I don't think that the tests were "illegal" I'll go with the too many cooks scenario.

    Speaking of which, Happy Thanksgiving.

    LOL

Now that a lot of dust has settled on the season and that tire test, I am still 100% certain it was illegal. Not that it matters now, just saying that even without any emotions getting in the way (by now I actually like MB, partly because of their cheer leader FerrariPilot :)), I am still absolutely convinced they knew it was illegal and only got away with it because they were able to blackmail the FIA.

Oh well, water down the Rhine.

Interesting theory. Not far fetched by any means.

I think Brawn left because some article stated that he believes it's best a one team one man approach, not like what Honda did.

However, Merc board had other ideas, and Brawn was not comfortable with it.

I still feel he has lots to offer in F1, and it seems he have unfinished business. I really do hope he come aboard the Scuderia.

Regardless of what Brawn thinks, MB started adopting this style nearly a year ago, and that's when they turned into a top team.

MB want championships, they are in this to win and I think they know they're going to have to change the way the game is played to beat the best (Red Bull, Ferrari).

Meanwhile, MB with a 12.6% boost in US sales (total 262k) for the first 10 months of 2013, unreal. BMW up 12.8% too (total 240k).
