It's never been enough since 2009 mate. We came close twice now. But we need to nail it. I'm ok with the job Luca has been doing, but there's a lot of things that can be dealt internally, IMO. Also, i think it's the final chance next year for Dom to net both prices, otherwise he'll probably be shown the door.
Halt! Or I'll yell halt! again. It's gone on so long that you have to think that the problem is systemic. Like it or not the buck stops at the big guy's desk.
The first time LdM tweaked Alonso's ear in public it was very upsetting and I didn't like it at all. However he has continued to do so, pointing out how no driver is bigger than Ferrari, and because he has continued with it I have started to believe that matters have been dealt with internally without success. Hence he has gone public, which tells that there must be some sort of a power struggle behind closed doors that has not been solved in private. We don't know what has happened, we only read what LdM says in public. But something bad must have happened since this war of words is still going on, although Alonso has ever since been very diplomatic to the media which tells that whatever the 'message' was, it has hit home already. But LdM has not stopped and that makes me think that the dispute has still not been solved. I remember very clearly how strict the rule was on forums during 2007-2009. If Ferrari wins it's the car winning, but if they lose it's the driver's fault. No Ferrari-driver was allowed to take any glory, for example in Spa 2009 it was the car winning and not Kimi. He just benefitted from what he was given and also it was often reminded that Ferrari gave him the WDC-title, not the other way around. I understood it very well, team-fans support the team and that's exactly how they should react and think, nothing bad in that. What has changed in your support and why? When Alonso wins he usually takes the credit telling how he gave his 120 % and took the car to places where it shouldn't had been. When losing he also explains it with the car being bad. And everything he says seems to be perfectly okay with you, now the rule is that Ferrari can be bashed freely and the driver FA should be given all the credit for all good results. I just don't understand what has changed, why Ferrari-fans have changed their philosophy and turned into driver-fans?!? Or did I miss something? Was Kimi so disliked among you guys that you applied different rules in his case? This is written in a kind spirit with the intention of finding some logic in this all. It doesn't matter what the reason is as long as it explains it. Ferrari-fans were very disappointed in Kimi's results during three years, only 1 WDC- and 2 WCC -titles. Alonso has not won a title in four years, yet he is understood and excused and the blame is placed on Ferrari instead. Which is weird coming from Ferrari-fans. I don't want Alonso to be bashed at all, I felt sorry for him in 2010 when so many expectations were piled upon him leaving no room for any failures. So I'm happy that he didn't get slaughtered the way Kimi was slaughtered, honestly! Since Kimi is in your team next season and someone earlier questioned his lack of motivation when walking to his yacht in Monaco after having a DNF: During Kimi's years in McLaren (2002-06) the car broke down all the time - which was not his fault as some have been saying. He had 30 DNFs during his stay in Macca. 30! 10, 3, 8, 3 and 6. Was he disappointed with McLaren? Absolutely! Did he ever say even one bad word about the car or the team or the development work? No! The mechanics told later on that he was so furious and disappointed after having yet another DNF that when he walked in the pit garage they knew not to speak to him until he had calmed down. After calming down he met reporters being sure that he would talk in the team's honor. After he was sacked in Singapore GP, did he just show up to races? No! He drove flatout for the team trying to score as many points for Ferrari as possible. Nor did he ever come out with any dirty secrets about Ferrari. This is my perspective and being a Kimi-fan there must be some things that I missed when seeing how differently these two drivers have been treated on forums. Kimi coming out with not being paid one dime is really unheard of, things must have been really bad inside the team. During the season he repeatedly said that there are some small things that the team has to take care of and that he can't do a thing about it himself. And then in Abu Dhabi he told about the money and also found an excuse to sit out the last two races, it was as if he didn't want to score one point more for Lotus and that speaks volumes of internal unsolved matters and fights. To go back to the question: why has the attitude towards Ferrari changed and has it affected the majority of the fans? Seeing team-fans go against their own team and siding with a driver is something that I never saw Ferrari-fans do before. It's as if the car would be pre-Schumacher and the slowest car on the grid, lol. Sorry if this is offensive, it was not intended that way. This has puzzled me for a longer time already.
Im not puzzled. This is Corporate communications control. Nothing else. It also applies to every Ferrari employee from what Ive read. Non issue to be honest.
Why are you (and others) so adamant that Alonso does not want to go there? even though Alonso's manager WAS talking to red bull (even pictured doing so?!). What is so strange about a fast driver wanting the best seat in the house, especially if said driver thinks he can beat their #1 driver? 1) Alonso and LdM had a falling out of sorts during that weekend 2) Alonso's manager is pictured talking to Horner 3) Argument gets rectified between Alonso and LdM 4) Alonso now claims he doesn't want to have the fastest seat (quite weird when you put it like that, no? Does he WANT the not quite as fast seat?). Not going to look very well for Alonso and Ferrari if Alonso and his boss where seen falling out, then Alonso confirming that he's talking to RB now is it...
