Thank you, Amazon is a bit stop-and-start with some people getting it immediately, others a few weeks later.

However Veloce has good supplies and they are re-stocking Amazon etc.

The main problem? The book is selling very well and depleting supplies!

Talked to Amazon thismorning as I too was getting frustrated with my order (placed May 2012). I found it funny that despite showing delayed on my account, I was sent a Christmas ad email with the book featured. A phone call and some digging led to them saying it should be shipped in a week or so. Fingers crossed!

I love the slick shod and lowered 288 on the previous page.

 

Yeah i'm pretty bummed out. I ordered mine from Amazon in Sept as an Christmas gift for my brother. Just checked on it and its saying it'll ship out After Christmas.

Just a quick comment, not a complaint, I ordered my copy of your GTO book on the 2nd of Feb, via Amazon with a delivery date estimate of September, they have now advised a 3rd delay this time post January and again as it was for a Christmas present, very disappointing. I am from Melbourne Australia, so not sure if that is what puts us at the bottom of the queue. I have now ordered another copy via Veloce and they say it will be here by air within 2 weeks, fingers crossed! I also ordered several other books from Amazon which they said they had in stock, but now also delayed. I will never use Amazon again! looking forward to getting the book, regardless. Doug

 

Yeah, I suspect Amazon is having issues getting their hands on enough books (if any), for some reason. I preordered forever ago, was supposed to drop on 12/3 (if I remember correctly), and now they're still in the "preorder" state.

I'll continue waiting. Amazon has treated me well since 1997, so I'm not worried.

Don't get frustrated with Joe about all this. After having published three books that have been released through amazon.com, I too have been in the same spot more than a few times.

Normally Amazon waits until "enough" backorders are received before they actually order the books. The toughest part is getting them to stock that initial order and once that is done, they tend to keep a couple in inventory. If those are sold, the reorder begins. When I track what is sold to amazon.com, it is never 10 - 20 books at a time, but 1-3 every few days. It must drive my distributor mad. Their wait time too is a guess as sometime I know them have them in their warehouse when the web is listing it as backordered.

Be patient, folks, and your books will arrive. Lots of steps in between, sadly.

 

Not frustrated with Joe at all, hope it didn't come across that way. More frustrated with myself.......should have ordered directly from the publisher. Been looking forward to a book such as this for a LONG time. By the sounds of things, it won't be that long now.

 

Completely understand how you feel, hopefully the book will be more than worth the wait!
