Actually, the gap varies size but is noticeable in what look like production units, and even in press photos.
I see no gap here. As I said, all 918s with that gap in front are Porsche test cars. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Were the cars Road and Track had recently production vehicles? I noticed that the gap was still visible but certainly smaller and more uniform. Photos: 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder First Drive - Road & Track
Having seen most online available pictures of the 918, I consider the gap not an issue, even if there are a few examples of a bigger, unacceptable gap (yes, surely test cars).
I find this rather cheap: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E9IWiTpWeiM]McLaren P1? vs. the Nürburgring-Nordschleife - YouTube[/ame]
It really doesn't matter. I have found the whole situation very comical from the beginning. I still admit to being a little bummed we're not getting the full lap video for the simple fact that the parts we do get to see are pretty incredible and I want more of that! >8^) ER
Awesome video! I love all the noises the P1 makes! I think we'll see a lap time from McLaren once the Lafs are built.
Very nice editing!!! Bruce Wayne flies in batman movies.... I wonder if Christian Bale can fly in real life
That video is INCREDIBLY frustrating because of the idiotic coyness. Too bad because the car looks great going round the track.
I am still convinced that they have done a sub 7 lap, it just does not make sense from all perspectives that they could not.
So if Ferrari release a video asking "Did we do it? Did the LaFerrari lap the Nurburgring in under six minutes?" Yes, of course." We should take their word for it? Laughable. Maybe an independent test, but we won't see anything from McLaren.
Looks like fun but, at the end of the day, all we have a is a vague claim. No lap time, no video, no proof of any kind. Just a vague claim.
Cheap is a good word for it. You sense the excitement and anticipation mclaren put into the whole effort. This is a teaser that casts the whole denial of a notable result as a cheap ploy. At some point they will reveal their result. And the evo journalist that wrote of their justifiable reluctant response will be humiliated... It also removes the allegation that the helicopter seen at the event wasn't mclaren's rather obviously. It really is a pity that McLaren is playing a pathetic game around this. Now I think less of them. And I've been a quiet fan. Putting the effort into this production varies by how much in doing the real thing? Just looks dishonest. Why do they need that? SV That all said. Car looks great going fast! Those crashing sounds inside the cabin are warning curbs or suspension bottoms or ??
What an absurd contest!!! McLaren have made sooo much noise about their sub 7 minute claim that they needed to spend money making a movie???? Sounds a little curious! Plus who knows what tyres, set up, temperature etc was applicable. You can put a brilliant and well known racing driver in any car on the Nordschleife and then put one who grew up there and the famous one will get "destroyed".... So what does it all mean? Not much,,, What I do learn from the video is that the P1 does not make a very nice noise, that it whistles like they forgot the window joints and that the driver's cheering would hardly earn him an oscar... This from a company that hasn't won a Constructor's World Championship since....1998.... That was in the last century!! Blah, blah, blah
This video and McLaren's whole vibe around this just seems like a condecending f$&@ you. Their PR sucks. It seems alienating to anyone watching it, fan or not.
come on ....I can understand we are in Ferrarichat but it s not bad... as Luca would say...numbers are not telling the truth...is the magic of experience...the magic of using it and driving it... Now I read only comments about the time... If the time is the only thing that matters ,so is the Mp4 better than our beloved 458?
