would like to avoid that if possible, made me smile though. Al did a Maserati not so long ago exactly that scenario, but the owner decided he did not like the colour after the car was re-assembled.
The agony, door reveals and door inners painted...... The rest tomorrow.....paint supplier was a couple of days late getting the paint to Al. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Really really pleased with the colour, and the finish, will get some more pictures up over the week-end. Hopefully I should be able to find time before Christmas to go and take a look at my car in person as I have to drop off a new door latch anyway. On the home straight now for sure.
Back on its wheels ready for wet sand and polish early next week, then the interior can go back in. Looks like a car again! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Not only this, it Looks stunning! Tahiti was allways my favorite Color on a countach (OK my Chianti is also stunning but Tahiti is still awesome).
Very surprised how the colour changes depending on the light, I think the gamble will pay off, will see next week once the interior goes in.
Red, leaving the interior as apart from a few fit issues and the side panels, was not too bad, if this does not work may be a re trim on the cards.
nice! it may worcks well it is one of those unusual combination that usually worcks well on old lambos like the green blue combo on miuras!
Simon, Kudos to you on your persistence! I love the color, but I am thinking this is a custom color made to your wishes, or, according to my archives, Blue Metallizzato? Either way, this is not Blu Tahiti, which is lighter with a green tint. I have added some pics of a Blu Tahiti car for comparison. My other comment would be that the red leather would be a fantastic vibrant combination with the color you have chosen, but, given the excellence of the bodywork, I would go all the way and do the re-trim you mentioned. Joe, eric's LP500s is also Tahiti and is as dark as his respray. It can be a matter of Mixture which might have changed over years or also the light. My Chianti perlcolor switches from brown to purple shade depending on the light reflections. This is both the same car: http://www.countach.ch/Eric/IMG_2621.jpg http://www.countach.ch/Eric/IMG_2609.jpg
Perhaps in the sun it will look different, but I think Eric's LP500S is lighter, to my eye anyway. The car looks well-lit in the location of the images, so in the shade it will be even darker. The paint on Simon's car looks like a Lamborghini color Ive seen on several LP400 called Blue Metallizzato. Either way, its an awesome shade, and, personally blue is my favorite color, and I own multiple cars in that color, I'm just trying to understand the specification of this paint.
The F40 is also MUCH brighter red than the 308 ... In time I have learned NEVER to judge a color from a picture. Pictures, and for sure digital ones, can be so deceiving ... and altered ...
