The "Why I'm done with Ferrari" thread had 80,000 views with many commenting recently how they loved the thread. Why would the admin just end it when it was so active and interesting to so many?

I enjoyed it and would like to continue the discussion.

I am picking up my new 458 Spider this week and couldn't be more thrilled with the current state of affairs with Ferrari.

Ferrari of Tampa Bay was fantastic the whole way. This was my first purchase through their dealership. The owner, Ono (I don't know how to spell his name) was very gracious. The service manager Anthony (serviced my used 360 Sp) is great and always informative. Matt in sales is knowledgable and an enthusiast and just great.

They also flatbed the cars when servicing.

I love the car and the expierence.

    OK... Now flame me!

What is the necessity of this thread, other than to re-ignite an already discussed topic and get thread views?

Many on the other thread commented how much they enjoyed the read. I also enjoyed it and thought it was a mistake to close it. It had 80,000 views.

    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/ferrari-discussion-not-model-specific/424627-i-think-im-done-ferrari.html

On the other hand, the best content was on that thread so starting a new thread with the intention of continuing the discussion may not work as intended.

I would suggest that the admin reopen that thread and allow the lively discussion to continue.

    Who cares about thread views?

I was thinking that "TheMayor" started that other thread as a joke and only wanted to see how many posts/views/pages it would have by April 1, when he would tell us all that the whole point of the thread was a April Fools joke.

But now we will never know :)

Why do threads even get closed? Is this a daycare or a free community chat room?

Threads should die on their own when everyone has said what they want to say and if someone wants to reply to it as they browse the site in the next 5 minutes, 5 days or 5 years then so be it.

Sometimes this place feels like you're a 5 year-old again playing in your living room at night and having your parents tell you "it's enough, go to bed and be quiet" .Do we really need to be censored like this? I'm not trying to be a troublemaker but aren't we adults and shouldn't a conversation end on its own?

I've been reading the Mayor's thread and wanted to chime in (only once I had all the info and I was almost finished reading all the pages) and now it's suddenly closed?

I love Ferrarichat but this I find really annoying...

+1 Great choice dealership for a new order. Matt & Marlow know the product and will certainly get our business if we're ever fortunate enough to order one new.

I am with you! I absolutely love my 2012 458 Italia. Every time I drive the car I get a huge smile on my face. I am amazed with the technology and what Ferrari has been able to build with MODERN Ferraris. I owned a F430 for 2 years and felt that car was superb. I sold the F430 to get an Italia and my heavens what a car. These modern F cars may not be for everyone but in my eyes it is one of the best cars ever, if not THE best sports car on the planet in its price point, period.

I got a full paint correction upon my preowned delivery with 3500 miles and the paint is near flawless.

I added the capristo remote to remove the off/on/off/on sound of the exhaust, must have upgrade!

I established a great relationship with the service dept. at my local dealer.

I will never buy new and get hammered on resale so the "game" dealers play is a non issue.

Other than that I love the car, I drive the car as much as I can and currently have 0 temptation for any other car at the moment.

I will probably never buy another Ferrari. The 458 is so fantastic I cannot imagine anything that would fill my needs so well. The car is just perfect for my sports car needs.

    I love it.

I hope and expect to enjoy the car as much as you.

My dealer is installing the Capristo exhaust remote switch as we speak... So to speak.

Did you install the plastic wrap on the front end?

My car does not have a clear bra. I prefer the look of no clear bra. I do most of my driving on country roads etc and don't drive into the city much or do much heavy highway driving so I don't need the clear bra. I put 3000 miles on my F430 and got maybe a couple rock chips. My Italia has no rock chips, I just looked at it a few minutes ago, can't find any, 4500 miles on the clock. Anything can happen at any time and the clear bra would give more protection, I just choose to not have one, unless installed perfectly the look and edges they have bother me, prefer the look of pure paint...

If you drive in the city or in heavily traffic areas a clear bra is a wise choice for your new Spider.

    Good luck and post pictures!

My next will be a 599. Don't know when exactly. Happy with the 612 for now. Definitely not done with Ferrari here.

    Bob, I said like 1,000,000 times... neither am I. I'm looking for a classic F (or M).

I'm only done with ordering new cars until things improve. Hopefully, they will -- and everyone on Fchat will be happy for the changes.

Less BS and more openness when trying to buy a new car. No more 2 year old deposits until cars are ordered.

No more insulting option pricing policy

Working to lower insurance costs and replacement parts

Better communication on when car is being made, shipped, and delivered

Better quality control including paint and detail

Treat every customer like their best customers

Better communication between customers and FNA when dealing with issues -- having an ombudsman to look at customer complaints of dealer or Factory issues and follow up.

Listen more to your most loyal and long term customers, including those who ask for manual boxes.

For some reason, people like to argue that Ferrari is just fine the way it is. I have no idea why except the kool aid tastes mighty sweet sometimes.

You can upload pictures 4 at a time. Then clear and do it again. There may be a limit on the number of pictures you can post if you are not subscribed.

Say goodbye. Time to move on.

For the price of this car, I can get

    1) One Corvette C7 convertible with manual box

    2) One Alfa 4C

    3) One Ferrari 512 Boxer (or a Testarossa and a 328 or a 360 spider)

    or, a 246 Dino GT

I think I have passion alright.

I can respect your choice to buy what you like. Sometimes this issue is not value, but emotion which is tied in with passion. Passion is not about value.

Aren't you going to have the same trouble that you complained about with modern Ferraris in your new Vette with attention, cops, red lights, etc.? Also the limits of the Corvette exceeded the legal limits on the road 20 years ago and the car today is way more capable.

I don't see it this way but I'm echoing your comments on the prior "leaving Ferrari" thread.

Of course, a Ferrari is not for everyone. Enjoy your vette. They look nice.
