Looks cool but I'm thinking the reflectors "reflect" by design, yes?

True... but it appears that the US is the only country that thinks they are required :)

I am so used to them that I like the car with or without them. When I see other country's requirements, like what has to be done to the Corvettes in Germany, I can see what people from other countries must think about our add-on lights.

Did you have a local body shop do it?

At night, does it still light up amber?

yep, and there are more and more european manufacturers nowadays make their US-spec cars with red signal indicators in the rear.

Some of them just fit it with a different-part-number, US-spec tail lamps with red signal lights, like BMW and Maserati. Others like Mercedes, Audi, or the 2014 Porsche Panamera, they US-coded the cars before shipping them to the States so the indicators were deactivated, instead, they flash the brake lights as indicators.

Don't know why they've been doing that since DOT allow both red/orange indicators in the rear. For American cars I get it, it's part of the traditions, but I still prefer orange over red as indicators on European cars.
