Hahahahaahah are you saying yuk to the Panamera or the Espada or both?

IDK its the same premise. Comfy sporting 2+2 high powered GT car meant to be a volume model to help fund other parts of the company. Fugly rear end and all. I stick to my case!

Maybe if they tried the same formula today, it might work. Thats my point.

The Panamera looks as though it could pass through the sphincter quite easily.
Some people feel the same way about the Espada though I think it would be bloody painful.

Well that's depressing to hear because if you haven't found it what chance do I have?
    I thought it WAS available.

Yes I'm looking ahead to when the seats come back and I want to move on to the carpet. My Passenger side rubber is flawless but it has the cut outs for the foot rest so I don't know if it could be utilized for a new mold? There were so many Espadas produced so why hasn't that Italian company offered this?

Bob I am certain someone could do a few passenger ones based on your original . Im in for one if you are .
why not poll the espada guys here and maybe we could take advantage of economy of scale .

also if someone has an original drivers side and toe protector on firewall a set could be made?

    Espada dudes SPEAK NOW!!

Toe protector? You mean the one on the tunnel? I haven't even looked closely at that yet. It's so hard to see I'm not sure anyone would notice a non original? Well excvept for you Gary. :D

BTW the passenger side is just a hand cut drivers side. So do one you do them all.

Bob Huber called me last night about the the leather perforating place. He's just been out to see Leno's collection, lucky dog, and Jay is restoring one of his Espadas now. So we started talking and the subject of carpet heel pads came up. The car he was looking at while on the phone didn't have them on either side but it did have the transmission tunnel pad on the driver's side. So then he started talking about making a mold from a scan of a good quality one. Another Espada guru who I think is occasionally on here, Laust, has a CNC machine and Laust is a very capable engineer as well. We were all together in Montana last June at the vintage rally.

So maybe something can happen here.

I don't have a complete pad in good condition but I do have the passenger side. Perhaps the missing pieces could be digitally rendered as a part of the scan?

I'm guessing that the tunnel pad is just a cutout of the open pattern of this staggered ribbed design?

A photo might be enough to come up with a reasonably accurate digital rendering.

So I think I'll photograph and measure the the two floor pads then post them.

A RHD tunnel pad might be a bit different?

Oh that looks so painfully familiar. I have a drive-on lift too and engine installation is not one of it's better uses IMHO.

I wish I could have the four point lift instead for those situations.

My body no longer goes into torture situations like that without enormous push back ...

The only thing that I've done which was heavier and bigger than that V12 engine was a cast iron 1950 Chrysler Imperial straight 8 with a fluid drive tranny on the back. I did that one all by myself in a tiny parking stall sized garage too.

I was also 26 years old.

    Yo no comprendo "shizzle"?

That last photo was for the tranny tunnel pad only ...

I'll try and photograph my passenger floor pad later.

BTW the side pad in this post which are for a Khamsin look close but not the same outline. Perhaps acceptable if the leading edge has the same angle?
    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/142796538-post3161.html

It's the same pad as the driver's side. What they did on "my" car is to cut two slots through the pad, not mold them in and then they slide the pad in place and sew it on with glue on the back side as well. My passenger's side carpet and pad are near perfect except for some likely fade of the dark brown.

Do you know where to find carpet color samples that are accurate?

The only worn carpets pieces in my car are drivers side foot pad and the rear cargo bottom piece. Remember, I'd not doing a 100 point car here.

How would velcro even be noticeable?

The snaps on the rest of the carpet are easy to get. There is a very oddly shaped piece of carpet up under the dash on the firewall that's sort of start fish shaped. I had to get it out but it was glued so well that it came apart in pieces. I think I will velcro that one as well.

On that Italian company's website they list a rubber cover for the battery. I've never seen one have you? Of course it took me several years to find a battery cover as well and that does have a plain piece of rubber on the backside.

I meant steel snap in place buttons like on a pair of jeans for example .
I have my original steel battery cover and yes it has a rectangle of rubber glued to the underside to prevent a piece of luggage pressing down and possibly shorting out the battery terminals .
