Hi. I would like to change my Pirelli Corsa tyres to a high performance street tyre as the corsas have hardened over time and the car has become very dangerous on the street. What is the best street tyre at the moment? I heard good comments for the MPSS and the RE11. How do these tyres compare? Also, Is there another new model which surpasses both these tyres? Would you recommend staying with 225/35/19 and 285/35/19 or go for 235/35/19 front and 295/35/19 rear? Thanks.
After a couple of sets Pirelli Corsa on my CS I changed to MPSS - much better in the wet, the same on street and almost as good on track (and significantly less expensive too!). Get the original dimensions, they are available as MPSS.
If you do a search you'll find more information than you could hope for. Or search threads by F430GT. I think the lastest and greatest are the Pirelli Super Trofeo and RE-11A(?). I think the Pirelli's are more track only as well as the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup II's.
I switched to 235 in front and re-11 and love them. Great high performance tires. I do not drive the CS in the rain. Do a search, loads of good stuff already covered here on this topic.
On my 360 Modena, I went from older Michelin Pilot Sports to RE11 and while both ride quality and traction improved, turn-in wasn't quite as crisp, not the end of the world, but if I had to do it again, I might try something else, although in the 18" factory fitment for the Modena there weren't many options. I should add I had MPSS on my 2008 BMW M3 and was very pleased with them save for being a bit loud (although it would probably be less noticeable in the Ferrari as opposed to the BMW).
RE-11 are the way to go, excellent balance at the limit, good grip in the wet and priced right. 235 in front for sure.
Its seems that the RE-11s are really hard to find in Europe. I think I will be going for the MPSS 235/35/19 F and 295/35/19 R.
Yup, they're not CE rated and cannot be sold in Europe. Car would fail any worthiness test with them on also.

Again, if ordering MPSS from Europe, the sizes are limited. Tire Rack can ship worldwide though and the cost isn't prohibitive if you want an internationally available tyre size that isn't available in Europe. The MPSS tyres are all CE marked.
