I prefer the LaFerrari. The P1's front is kinda funny imo, but some might like it. The porsche is extremely beautiful, too, but I guess you can't match the Italians when it comes to design. It's just what they do. Mayor are you considering buying the LaFerrari???
I have to admit the LaF design is growing on me every time I see more videos of it - I think seeing it on the road with the contrast against regular cars gives a better sense of its proportions vs photos of it alone. That said I'm liking all 3 of them more and more each time I see them. The funny thing is we should be discussing all FOUR of them as the Jag CX75 was every bit as good and in my opinion, far more attractive than all 3 of the ones we've been discussing. It's a true shame Jag killed it off as I read an article by someone who was allowed to drive the prototype and despite them subbing an ordinary 4-banger for the originally proposed Turbine engine, he swore up and down that car drove every bit the part of a million-dollar supercar. And those looks - wow - there's simply nothing to argue about there!
Does anyone know about how long it will take from the time the first one of these cars will be delivered till the final one is delivered? Since the technologies are pretty new, will they continue to tweak these cars as the technologies improve from the first car delivered to the last?
I believe it is a 2 year + delivery programme and personally if I was getting one! I would want one of the last as for sure, with this complexity! there will be improvements on the electrical side?
I agree. I never understood why the first car off the line is usually the most desirable. For me, I would always want the last car possible, that way all the bugs have been worked out by then.
You are rigth not to trust me to design your sewer pipes (those things can be tricky and you could end up with a lot of crap in your hands...like a big p1)...I usualy design the houses..(yes bathrooms included!) and leave the sewers to the experts in that area.....as for the way i dress, i'm not to sure if your curiosity is a good sign!!
I owned an F-50 for less than a year, and drove it about 3,000 miles. It was, easily, the most exciting car I have ever driven. Loads of power, incredible grip, massive acceleration, perfect balance. I owned it with a partner, and he really knew how to throw around a car--he was a professional race car driver. I woke up every day of my ownership with a smile, knowing that F-50 was mine. We kept it in Europe, and I'd look forward to business trips to Europe to drive it around. The day we sold it, I felt like I had lost a member of the family. Over a decade later, I still miss that car. How anyone cannot be orgasmic (multiple orgasmic) over owning an F-50 is simply beyond me.
Pedro Braga, you are an architect! Bravo! So you must have good taste if you are working. Do not worry, dress how it make you happy! I am only curious for why you say the P1 is so unattractive design for you, but please use more mature descriptions. Also, did you know that your last name means 'woman's panties'? Is true! If this was my last name, I also would be angry at the world so you have my sympathy. Now back to LaFerrari, why you like it?
It is interesting, we have here in our forum an Italian individual who seems to hate Ferrari with a passionate flair so often stereotypically attributed to Italians' love for that very brand. It is less interesting, and more unfortunate, that the demonstration of this passionate hate is not as commendable as that of passionate admiration. Whereas the latter generally conjures images of contagious excitement and joy - even if sometimes that can become overenthusiasm and fanaticism - it seems clear that the former results in moronic personal attacks that detract not only from the experience of an otherwise mostly civil discussion between enthusiasts, but also hilariously undermines any positive argument this certain individual tries to propose about the car he seems to admire so much - the McLaren P1. Whether this is attributed to this individual only, or to a stereotypical reaction - I'll go with the first option in this case - it is getting extremely tiring. I realize that this is in itself a personal attack and for that I apologize in advance to both moderators and other members of this discussion. Fortunately there is an ignore list function on the forum of which I will make use for the first time in a few years as a reader of & participant in these generally informative discussions. I just felt that another voice of displeasure in a thread already disproportionately negatively affected by such attitudes might mean that some action be taken towards those who have proven to be more inclined to repeat these sorts of useless comments.
Too much words merstheman, relax. I love all cars, I just dislike when somebody can criticise something with such distasteful words as what some people like him use, not me. I prefer a cultural and intelligent exchange of words, not the level some people resort to. I would say the same if somebody say LaFerrari is "crap' design. Now attack somebody else, not me who is light-hearted, good humoured and a lover of all technological driven design.
You know I found many Italians around the country dislike Ferrari a lot. Possibly because there is so much difference in classes there I don't know for sure. I definitely didn't find tons of Ferrari lovers around the countryside when I've been there.
You may be right, it makes sense, but I was just making a point. Also I don't think the class difference is the case here. Not wanting to detract from the thread any further, I wanted to pose a question: Perhaps this was explained before but why is it that the cars with exposed carbon bodywork/trim take longer to be manufactured/delivered? I heard there is something to do with a different level of CF, with a finer weave, but I thought the manufacturing processes would be similar enough. Probably not the case, I guess. The P1 seems to have exposed carbon bits in any case, is it a different form of CF, or do they just use the "better" type, like Pagani, for instance?
Laferrari is one of the lowest sportcars ever. Laferrari 1116 mm Diablo 1105 mm (lower) Countach 1070 mm (lower) Aventador 1136 mm (higher) Murciélago 1135 mm (higher) Enzo 1147 mm (higher) F40 1130 mm (higher) Agera 1120 mm (higher)
Chris Harris behind the wheel of the Porsche 918…. The Porsche 918 Spyder Tested - CHRIS HARRIS ON CARS - YouTube Looks like he enjoyed it!
Yes, i'm still working as an architec, wich i must add it´s rather impressive given the fact that almost nobody builds anything these days!!! I know what Bragas mean is Spanish, and it´s not womans panties, it´s for both sexs (i did not know you used that term in italian, as my italian is very scarse, unlike my spanish wich is rather fluent)...fortunatly (or not) i'm Portuguese so that doesn´t apply to me. Now back to La Ferrari, why do i like it? To me it´s pretty obvious, the car is stunning!... i like particulary the back of the car, it´s one of the most beautifull rears i ever had the pleasure to obser, even if as many have said, the center pilar should not have been cut....the P1 however as got IMO an horrendous derriere, no doubt very functional and impressive but far from being beautiful. The same could be said about the front end, where the La Ferrari is so dramatic and crisp, with that center pilar, and v shaped form, the Mac is...vulgar and boring in my eyes...i guess it´s a matter of taste
I also like that new Ferrari is lower, some companies build higher car, for example: Zonda 1141 mm Huayra 1169 mm I can be wrong but I think that nowadays Laferrari is lowest produced sport car in the world .
Better add those lifters to the option list, then. Unless you live somewhere where roads are all silk smooth.
It's interesting that you dislike distasteful criticism ( to paraphrase you ) as many of your posts contain a distasteful comment directed at a poster (not an inanimate object with no feelings ).
