A friend of Santa?s comes down from the North | Scuderia Ferrari The article say he will have Antonio Spagnolo as his race engineer. Does Rob Smedley go when they let Massa go?
pretty sure smedley left with massa. what's the consensus with antonio spagnolo do fchatters like this choice? i don't know anything about him.
I´ve read that Smedley has a higher profile job at Williams now, not as Massa´s engineer. Actually I think that I´ve read about Smedley´s departure before Massa´s, so I suppose that his move is not linked to Massa´s.
It was made clear by Williams that they were not a package deal. In regards to Kimmi being at Maranello let Alonso's crying and whining begin.
I think both of them will just get racing at first, Alonso is confident and Kimi doesn't care enough anyway. It's only if Kimi proves too quick in the car that Alonso will care, and I can't see that these days Kimi may turn out to be the best wing man Alonso ever had cos he will score well in every race given the equipment, while the wily fox will be best suited to the mind games of race wins against very quick bulls and mercs
He only has one year left (with obvious option to extent of course)??? He's of to Maccy L next year anyhow .
Yes Fred's confident, but so is Kimi..... I'm getting tired of this 'Kimi doesn't care' BS too TBH. Sure, he doesn't care for all the off track nonsense, but when he gets behind the wheel he's as motivated and IMO faster than pretty much anyone. If they can give them decent cars it may just be one of the most epic battles we've seen in years. Cheers, Ian
I though he had a contract thru the end of '15 with an option for '16? As for Fred heading to Woking, why would he go from a front runner to a midfielder? I don't care what Kimi does, I think he'll be in red thru at least '15 and probably longer. His chances of another title remain best there, and that's what he wants. Cheers, Ian
Yes. Good point. Because that's his thing. Tantrums, stomping his feet, whining, crying, turning on his team etc. Whatever disruption he can create when things do not go as he wants. I suspect he has already done this behind the scenes starting long ago and this is what lead to the breakdown in his relationship with the Scuderia publicly. I was told by an F1 journalist that there was a LOT happening and that behind the scenes and the relationship is over. Me too. I think that at Lotus they had a good idea of turning that part of him into something positive. It should not become an excuse for him to slack off. I heard that his off track physical training could use improvement. I hope. If I were a McLaren employee I might be losing (even more) confidence in the leadership re hiring someone who had such a negative impact on the team.
THAT IS A SMILE ! kimi style that is. ian said the key phrase tho.....'if the car is good enough' kimi and alonso can both drive to great success, provided they do not have a lemon.
I cannot wait. I think Kimi is really coming from a good place. If this puts FA on his back foot things could get interesting fast.
