I guess this volume is not possible. Why realized Maserati not more than 4,7 liter for the GranTurismo Sport and MC?

Of course that capacity is possible. 4.7 litres is my bet.

4.7 liter I can imagine also, but not more. And 4.7 liter will not be enough to knock a McLaren or a Huracan.

    The 458 4,5 litre engine has a bore × stroke ratio of 94 × 81 mm (3.7 × 3.19 in)
    The Maserati 4.7 litre engine has a bore × stroke ratio of 94 × 84.5 mm (3.7 × 3.33 in)

My consideration: Maserati had to increase the stroke because it wasn't possible to increase the bore in this engine block, the block is on its limit.

Now a further increase of the stroke (to reach 4.9 or 5.2 liter) will have a really negative impact for the revving/engine speed capabilities.

Therefore I guess Ferrari will develop for the 458 successor a 3.8 liter V8 bi-turbo with approximately 650 hp.

I would have nothing against it as long as it's would be sounds at least like F40 and have some significant weight reduction in comparison to 458

I dont get how you think it wont be enough to knock the McLaren or the Huracan. The speciale matches the Mclaren and the Huracan only has 600 hp. From predicted reports the car puts down times that are what the 458 italia does. The 458 replacement will have a N/A in my opinion. Ferrari knows that people want that and Ferrari will figure out how to make that happen.

why people want N/A in 458 replacement?

Because people dont want to do deal with turbos. They have drawbacks: turbo lag, heat soak in warm weather which really brings down the effect of the turbos, and the sound is no where near as good.

    I wholeheartedly agree with you.

Yet, if that is the case, why will Ferrari most likely only offer a turbo-engine in the next Cali? Sure, it's the 'softest' Ferrari, but it is still a Ferrari after all?

And it's not that turbo-engines cannot sound good... listen to the F40?

Indeed, but look at Audis 4.2/5.2 V8/V10 family. It's a longstroke engine(84.5 by 92.8 millimetres bore x stroke) and it can still rev to nearly 9000 rpm(in RS4, R8 and Gallardo-Huracan), and do so on daily basis without any repercussions on engine longevity. It does have one of the highest piston speeds ever in any engine, though...

Porsche is about to launch the GT3 RS with a 4.0 liter 6 Cylinder that cranks 9k 7 500 HP
IMO- Ferrari can do a V-8 in the 4.9-5-2 liter capacity and crank 9k with well over 600hp

Very interesting what you are writing!

I ask myself how a stroke enhancements will affect the revving characteristics of the actual 4.5 liter engine? I imagine a worsening, because the actual engine is regarding revving absolute outstanding.

Regarding the Porsche GT3 example: my favorite is the GT2 RS and not the GT3 RS. The GT2 turbo engine has so much more power (torque) than the GT3 NA engine.

For me the switch from a NA V8 to a turbo V8 can bring many advantages for the 458 successor.

The Mac 12c and the Mac P1 have variations of the same engine, as does the current CA and the 458.

It's not 1985 anymore. Porsche and McLaren are making excellent turbo engines. The days of larger displacement and less fuel efficient engines is closing to an end.

Ferrari knows the downside. I'm sure they'll work around the issues. As to history, two of Ferrari's best loved modern super cars, the 288 GTO and F40 are twin turbos.

And, by the way, the two Maserati engines sound great.

Yes, yes the Huracan sounds so terrible, awd is terrible & "boring" just like how it looks...

Sure, keep saying that to yourself & you might actually believe it. But for those who are a little more open-minded well, 2014 could be a fun year.

sound great in comparison to 6.3 AMG or new TT from M5 but not in comparison to N/A from Ferrari and Lambo

Only the V12 models get Lambo doors.

There are rumours going round that you will be able to switch between RWD and AWD on the Huracan. Would be a pretty neat thing imo.

I wasn't blown away by the design, especially the rear but I think it's a nice base for the future models to build on.

i.e this. (credit goes to Nicke on a familiar lambo forum)

These videos are the most awful PR stunt ever dreamed up. Simply embarrassing. Makes me want one LESS. Who are they marketing too? College drop outs? I'd rather have them give them away on Oprah that this. It couldn't be more annoying. Can't wait for Episode 5 where they do the Harlem Shake.

What those actors were really thinking when the cover came off. :)

Just saw the video...that is pretty awful actually. Do not think I will be acting like that at the preview lol.

Personally do not think I will be getting rid of the R8 or 458 for it. Will wait for the R8 that is based on this instead I think.

Shame...Lamborghini are a few years behind. But my full opinions held till I personally see it and drive it.

no matter how fast this car is on race track, Lambo will sell thousands of them, even more if 458 replacement will be turbocharged

So I'm assuming you've put a deposit down already? When do you get it?
