Kind of. The tat is an older style desmo valve train, but close enough! :)

Expected prices seem in line with recent offerings, the D16RRs might be a bit high but not crazy.

What is crazy though are the values of the vintage Ducs in general, with 750 Sport and F1 variations especially nuts. Five years ago those bikes were less than half what they are today.

Maybe the 851 will be the next Ducati to rocket up in value.

I have thought for a while the vintage motorcycle market was due for a bump. I know they'll never have a cache or following of cars, but I predict they'll continue to go up.

Desmo16 is special and in some way rare.
Prices had been so low, have just one direction to go... up.

What did it go for? I sure hope it's more than I was willing to pay, since I completely forgot the register to bid online.

op (Stover?) what happened to the Ducati 851 SP3 for sale thread you posted? I pm'ed you and your mailbox was full. Then I posted directly in the thread and you emailed me, asked me what else I needed to know about the bike. But now no email reply to my email.

And now the 851 4/s thread is dead, gone, deleted... weird.

10 years ago I got 30k for my Harris F1 engined race bike. Not restored, motor blown up. Now restored, hopefully worth more. won two championships with it.
