I've spent a couple of occasions poking at this car. It would require all new quarter panels + spats on all four corners + front euro bumper is fused to the kit and would likely be destroyed if someone would attempt to take it apart. Basically the kit is ONE piece all the way around. There's zero black calk anywhere on this car. My vote is to keep it white. Blue on that particular Countach would look awful. That's just my humble opinion.
Great choice, love combination of colors. I was at Colin Clarke this summer when ex owner came to pick it up... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Blue Tahiti seems to be the popular retrofit color! You already know what I will say - IMVHO, the right way to restore these automotive works of art is to pay homage to the orogonal artisans by restoring them back to their original glory (& specification).
The 1/4 panels where cut? If that's the case, yes I would just install the body kit back on. I would keep it white. White for whatever reason is not popular on vintage exotics, but on a Countach it's totally different. A top choice color.
Thanks. I spoke with Colin before I bought it, and he was very helpful. Joe also gave some useful input, and then I had it inspected by Mike Pullen at Carrera Sport, who is tidying up a few things for me, post-Christmas. The first time I drive it will be a 450 mile trip home!
The quarters were cut to make use of bigger brake ducts. The tubes on the inside of the kit was also fused to the inner part of the body and kit. It would cost way more than the car is worth to bring it back to the way it left Sant' Agata. I told my friend why not buy the black 5000s in FL and paint it blue. It'll be much cheaper.
Footsoldier, Be interesting to see what the mpg is on your trip up north! Will be a great way to get to know her. Any decent roads you'll go via? R
Yes - there are a few great cross country options when you get near the borders. I've driven lots of cars on that route over the years, as it is a great way to get to know them. Which road to take depends on weather, time of day and strength of headlights...but either way, I'm sure the Countach trip will be a new high!
A video ala Henry Metcalfe would be great! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NiBMo7j5Gtk]Lamborghini Countach QV 1200 mile drive back to the UK - evo Magazine - YouTube[/ame]
I have driven my car up and down quite a lot. Normally I get about 16+ MPG Imperial sitting about 70-80mph ish Footsoldiers car was heavily modified when Jonathan had it, with direct injection and ignition etc. At Silverstone, Jonathan said he was only getting about 12-14mpg on long runs,as far as I recall. I drove mine down a few years with fiends in a Murci 640. The CT easily beat it for mpg. I think they struggled about 14 and I think i was doing 17 that trip. We were very legal though as one in the other car was a traffic cop and we didn't want to cause any embarrassment! Paul
Hi Paul, 17 is not bad considering. Although, as you say, you had a good reason to keep it legal. Be interested to know more about the injection on Footsoldiers new car. Which system, whats the benefit. R
Not sure why anyone thinks my old car (now Footsoldier's) was converted to injection as it's most definitely still carbs! Colin Clarke did convert it to electronic ignition but everything else is 'stock'. Jonathan
Jonathan Sorry my fault! I thought it was the other Jonathans car! His is black etc too! You may recall there were two black cars and two Jonathans at Silverstone. Must be my age. I wondered as I thought his was a QV! I look forward to seeing it up in Edinburgh with it's new owner. Regards Paul
found this on web anybody knows this QV? Lamborghini Countach LP400 - S - QV - 25th for sale fa-automobile.com
I see that they list " our other Countach" and have the sold sign over most of the pictures trying to lead potential customers to believe that they have owned and sold all those different cars when in fact I see more than one that they have never owned or offered for sale. That leads me to ask, what else are the lying about ?
Sory if this is a repost. Complete write-up on Ferrucio's Countach in the Dec 2013 "Classic and Sports Car"

Merry Christmas everyone! @ Joe. One of my good friends emailed me this to wish me a Merry Christmas and said that it was highly likely that this was my car. I'm like hummmm same exact bumper dead on. Any idea on the VIN on the 84' CT that was used in Rocky IV? My car was in CA from June 84' thru Oct 85' so it's highly possible. Besides I have never seen a red 84' with the same exact bumper as mine. (I took it off for the show and never put it back on) I had custom made brackets to fill in the half dollar sized holes where the bumper was and put the rear fog lights in the bumper's place.
