Bought this car from a Pelican early this year. The former owner bought the car and sent it to Rennsport in Sealy Texas for an overhaul. I have all the receipts and records for what was done, and have spoken to Mike Callus a few times at Rennsport.

I do have a habit of buying a car, keeping it a year or so and selling it. This is not the case with this car. I LOVE this car but am terrified of it. It is stupid, cartoon fast. I am used to my barely 200hp 308's and stock Carrera's. That is why this car is for sale.

    Work summary:

    Griffiths AC parts: $3550.00

Rennsport labor for AC upgrade: $2427.29

Rennsport Transmission rebuild + LSD: $5219.07

Rennsport RUF 3.5 spec engine build : $23,798.69

Car specs: Clear clear GA title for car (1974 911 tub)
@6000 miles on engine and trans since built. Running Bradd Penn 20-50 oil.
    Twin plug 3.5 liter engine.
    Clewett Engineering wire sets
    Electromotive crank triggered ignition.
    Kokeln inter-cooler.
    1.3 bar waste-gate spring.
    K27 turbo.
    Rennsport built CIS fuel dizzy.
    Dougherty Racing 964 cam sets.
    B&B headers & muffler.
Big red brakes with proper master cylinder set up.
    Drilled rotors.
17 inch Ruf 3.6 Turbo wheels with new tires ( have receipt for tires)
Fixed paint on roof and doors.
Removed / replaced all glass and replaced headliner.
New Porsche OEM black silver-knit carpet set.
    Added Air fuel ratio gauge.

    Issues:
rock chips on front valance my paint guy did not do.
    Speedo stops working sometimes.
    Car is stupid kill-you-dead fast.
Car has factory boost gauge in tach and the 935 boost gauge with key. They do not work all the time.

    Will start uploading pics.

Car is in Savannah GA 31408. Where Gulfstream jets are born.

Correction, this car has the full front trunk carpet set, but it does NOT have the jack, tool kit or spare. Those all go the euro 911 Carrera.

So the car is actually a 1974? Why is it listed an '87?

They did not make a Turbo in 1974. Something tells me you are not a buyer, and its not my job to educate you and the masses.

The dictionary is very helpful: ( Pay close attention to #3)

    con·ver·sion (kn-vûrzhn, -shn)
    n.
    1.
    a. The act of converting.
    b. The state of being converted.
    2. A change in which one adopts a new religion, faith, or belief.
    3. Something that is changed from one use, function, or purpose to another.

This means this 911 CONVERSION uses all Porsche OEM 1987-89 spec parts.

    Savvy?

Many of the other message boards do not allow comments in For Sale ads. This is the reason why.

I have a car for sale. What to buy it? Get a PPI? Great.

Want to learn about 911 conversions or cars in general?

    Please ask questions somewhere else.

This is my for sale ad.

I paid for Rossa and I am not here to educate you.

    Thanks.

As someone who recently sold a very similary car (74 911 converted to 87 spec), I have to say that your response was way out of line. You're the one that needs a major attitude adjustment.

BTW, I listed mine as a 74 even though it's actually spec'ed as an 87. Avoids the confusion that you apparently despise.

I never asked if the car was a '74 Turbo. I asked why the car would be listed as an '87 if it was a '74.

Oh, thanks for clearing that up! You completely explained it. So if I buy a '99 360 and install an '05 430 engine, bodywork, and wheels, it's now a '05? That's one I missed in my apparent lack of automotive knowledge.

Obviously not nearly as Savvy as you!

Well, welcome to F-chat. And it wasn't a comment, it was a question. Maybe you can look up the definition of that one in your dictionary.

Not if you can't answer a simple question in a public forum where you've advertised the car as an '87.

And paying for Rossa means you can't answer a simple question? I'm not asking about 911 conversions. I never asked if the car was a '74 Turbo. And I certainly didn't ask for an arrogant response. It was you who titled your Ad here (and on a few other forums) "1987 Ruf BTR 3.5 Slantnose". Which is obviously misleading.

But I think your response says enough about the type of seller you are.

    Yeah, I think I'll pass.

I think you stepped on enough toes here that it's highly unlikely you'll find a buyer after that outburst. I know was intrigued until I saw this post...not even remotely interested now. Best of luck.

Gee seeing as you are in CA and the car has a highly modded 1982 engine in it with no emissions, you would never be able to pass emissions and register the car anyway. 74 VIN or not the law in CA is it has to have the emissions equipment on it for the year of the engine if it was changed and has a CA BAR sticker. I have turned down several CA buyers on these cars ( green euro 911 as well) as they have NO EMISSIONS on them.

Tons of modded 911's are built from other 911 tubs. The dash is a late dash for the AC, the rear metal, the brakes, the wire harnesses, glass and so on. Only the tub is from 74.

Please, don't buy my cars if any of your prissy little feelings are hurt. My best buyers for both of these euro cars are going to be overseas, just like the last few cars I have sold.

Have to agree, no need for that type of sarcasm--Just plain rude. Be better to not answer the question at all....There are some who may of been interested in the car, but see a post like that and decide they have no desire to deal with a buyer like that....Merry Christmas

Then it sounds as though you are turning down offers based on a misunderstanding of CA law. The CA code states nothing about the year that an engine was manufactured; it refers only to the manufacture of the vehicle itself. See §44011(a)(3) below:

yeah, seriously, one of the rudest things on here I've seen outside of a normal P&R discussion.

Potential Buyer: How much for your car mister?
Thecarreaper: F&%K You! that's how much!

Seems like a good car at a reasonable price, but the sellers attitude is bad. I would never buy a car from him. Also his information on California smog laws is incorrect. A 1975 or older vehicle can have any engine/modifications, as they are smog exempt.

Carreaper needs no defending from me or anybody, but I will offer an observation. He's a serious car fan, has traded in and out of a bunch of interesting cars.

His work schedule is apparently brutal, and as we all know, there are times when work stress can otherwise make us a little cranky. Lord knows I've been there. After observing a bunch of his threads, this one seems an aberration, not consistent with his manner. So possibly other forces going on here, independent of car and query.

Getting back to the car, I hope it finds a good home and trust that the transaction will make a sale or even friends. There's certainly enough horsepower to spread goodwill.
