Prayers and positive thoughts for him and his family.
+1 again. I'm hoping right now that 'no news is good news'. Sabine (sp?) has the situation under control, and tomorrow's release will be all good. Think positive guys & gals! Cheers, Ian
Big lump in my throat right now; one of my best friends died earlier this year from an almost identical skiing accident; massive head trauma, bleeding, induced coma, the works. After nearly a year of effort, he almost made it back, then gone. Michael is stronger. He wil pull through. I really hope so. Let it be so. You can do it Michael. GO SCHUMI! Our thoughts are with him and his family.
/levity warning/ Looks like Robs 'hitometer' is off the charts here! I suspect there's more than one journo lurking. Cheers, Ian /end levity/
Some of the initial reports of this accident not being serious or life threatening apparently were optimistic. At least one report says now that MS is in “critical” condition, in an induced coma following emergency surgery to reduce swelling in the brain. I certainly hope things are better than they sound and that he's able to recover.
Very sad to see this news. I've enjoyed watching him race over the years and appreciate all he did for Ferrari to get that post-Enzo championship to fruition. I wish him a complete & speedy recovery.
Horrible feeling all day, like a bad nightmare, hope to wake up tomorrow and hear he is fine. Gonna keep praying for you Schumi that you win the most important race of your life now.
Michael is my idol and the reason I got my scuderia. I wish him the best. I will pray for him as well!!
I keep checking in hoping to hear some positive news. While Michael is legendary for his exploits off the track, there are many unheralded things he's done that go unreported. He's been a difference-maker in many way. I pray he's able to continue doing such.
I am checking in as well. this is often the first place to get news of this order. strangely I am a bit concerned about going to sleep and waking to sad news. like ian, this has me upset too. I hope for better news I really do.
There's a long thread up in the F1 section: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/f1/433202-schumacher-had-bad-ski-accident-15.html Hoping and praying for the best for Michael.
I was in a coma for 17 hours, hospital overdosed me, doctors thought they killed me. But I am here still pissing off people in P&R, so do not fear comas.
The next official "state of health" bulletin is scheduled for this morning at 11:00 Paris time, which will be 5:00 F-Chat time. In the meantime, all informations are just coming from outside sources (= non-official) as the hospital has not issued any official news for the last ten hours. His condition has been officially reported as "critique" in French, which is slightly less alarming than "critical" in English; I would say it should be understood as "very serious, impossible to issue any statement about him surviving for now". Rgds
Me too. I'm gonna try and get some sleep as I suspect I'm gonna be awake at 2am...... Trouble here is this isn't a medically induced coma but something even more serious. (according to our resident docs - thanks for the comments btw guys.) Ian
No news on Ferrari.com, not even a token " thinking of you Michael, we are with you all the way" type message. I can only surmise the men at Maranello have more advanced information at hand. Michael is in a monumental fight for his life, our thoughts and prayers are with you mate. Hard not to feel this has shades of Imola all over again, the stomach churning, gut wrenching wait has started for us all.
