Some of you might not realize how important that is to some folks. It's important to me because it means that I will have the enjoyment of another year of chatting with you. You have no idea how much fun it is for me to join with you and to share the stories that all of us have to offer. No other clan has such vitality and brightness. Let us have another year of sharing the good things, be it aviating or clean and good fellowship.
    All the best to you.

Happy New Year, Bob. Great to have you around for another year. The ranks of WW-II veterans are getting too thin.

Thanks, Taz. I wanted to mention that I really am working on writing all of my junk . The editor has pushed me to expand several sections that I omitted because it wasn't about aviation. So I am writing a bunch of stuff about life during the Depression, working in the Everglades, working with the Mullet fishermen, and more on air show stuff. So, I'm spending afternoons and some evenings adding a lot of non-flying things that I hope won't bore the reader...if it ever happens that there are some. This book stuff is a lot of work but at least, I have some pictures and artwork to spice it up I hope.

I'd like to shake this editor's hand. You have a way with words Bob, and have sparkling memories of an extraordinary life.
Very much looking forward to reading whatever you put down on (virtual, or printed) ink.

    Happy 2014 to all!

It's funny, I never really talk about flying to anyone. At work, we typically talk about other things (girls). At home, my job and flying never come up.....unless I have a bad schedule. So posting here is my only real outlet. Sometimes I feel like I'm posting too much, for instance, the 747-8 thread. But it seems I always see something at work that I'd like to share.

Anyways, Happy New Year. I look forward to reading many more posts.

Lou, Don't you dare stop posting! We'll make you fly an A380 if you do!. We enjoy all that you tell us because most of us are not able to experience what you do in a great machine!

Don't ever think that, Lou. Your posts are one of the strengths of this forum (along with Bob Parks' reminiscences). How else are we going to know "what it's really like out there?" Having an active pilot of the world's biggest Boeings posting here is really neat.

Right on, Russ, a Happy Band! Having been the sailor of my own little sloop I know the difference between the sailor's group and the fliers fraternity. There is a vast difference and there is no one to equal those who live in the skies and I feel honored to be a small part of that fraternity. I honestly look up to so many of you who have worked so hard to be at the top of your skills be it maintenance, flying, doctoring, or engineering. I have done nothing but to stick around for a long time. My hat is forever doffed to all of you. Thanks.
