    I made a similar one for my California.

    A few times I forgot to take it off and drove with it on--one time 50 minutes on the highway and twisty roads and it didn't come off!

    Haven't road tested this one for my 458
    Yet. But I try to remember to take it off before driving away!

    Several parking officers/ meter maids saw me put it on and they all gave me a thumbs up.

    I'll check their products out.

    My homemade one slides on and off in less than a second. Perfect for parking.

    Nothing to screw or unscrew.

    I just checked their website and they say that the clips are no longer available? Anybody know the back story here? Is this temporary or permanent?

    I would be worried the clips would not be able to perform at highway speeds. I think the best option is risking the ticket.

    Unfortunately, they will cite a car even if there is time on the meter or parked in a non metered spot, if you don't have a front plate.

    Parking tickets are a major source of revenue and the city is hiring more meter
    Maids and employing new technology to alert them as soon as a meter is expired plus not allowing you to add more time as well.

    In some areas a normal parking ticket is $85.

    I have problems with all of this.

    I'd be happy with $85 tickets. Here in Australia, it is several hundred dollars and 3 demerit points. Cops will turn around and chase you if they see no front plate.

    In San Francisco, I've had a cop flip a U-turn and come after me for no front plate. I've also been ticketed for it while parked. Until moving to SF, I never had front plates on any of my cars. Now I just use velcro. (not really applicable to 458's though)
