So I'm so eager on this, what will it look like?
Apart from the La Ferrari, 458 speciale & the new California what will be the next car?

Any news or pictures on this?

Based on the historical trends, the next car model due is the replacement for the 458 as a 2015 model.

Ferrari has been upgrading their mid-engine V8 cars approximately every 5 years and has upgraded the underlying platform used for those cars every other new model (every 10 years or so).
For example, the 10 year model cycles of shared platforms are:
    - 308, 328
    - 348, 355
    - 360, 430
    - 458, ???

Odds are, the new mid-engine V8 car will be based on the current 458 platform but have some significantly upgraded component or two to it.
Maybe a KERS unit added in? Maybe a heads-up display inside?
Maybe a twin-turbo V6 engine but I suspect that might happen 5 years from now instead of for 2015.

And, the 458 replacement will need to look somewhat different from the current 458 so expect different headlights, nose, size of the scoops on the sides, rear lights, etc.
Whatever they do, it will likely be in production from 2015 until 2019.

This is all conjecture, but it would fit the historical trends if this is what Ferrari does next.

Here is a recent history of the mid-engine V8 Ferraris:

    1975-1981 308
    1982-1985 308 QV
    1986-1989 328
    1989-1994 348
    1994-1999 355
    1999-2004 360
    2005-2009 430
    2010-2014 458

Yes, a heads up display and a fully automatic transmission and DVD player---is what the doctor ordered.

Pretty sure a new California is basically ready to go. The 458 replacement will be later, I reckon, since the Speciale just came out.

    Cheers,

Agree, but the OP asked what the next Ferrari would be AFTER the new California.

Do you think it will be the 458 Replacement or something else?

    Sorry, I missed that.

The 458 would be the logical next model, but I imagine they'll give the Speciale a two year run before they do that. If they were nearly ready with a 458 successor, I think we'd have seen a camouflaged test mule by now. It also makes sense that it would be an evolutionary model on the same platform as the 430 was to the 360, but I wouldn't expect it to be any before a 2016 model. But...

    ... you never know.

    Cheers,

    Geo

I suspect they may try to capitalize on the hybrid technology they built for the LaFerrari and introduce both a California & 458 line with additional hybrid features.

I don't think they will go big (successor to the Testarossa line with a flat 12) or small (turbo'd V6, budget car) and will instead go "green"

That seems like a safe bet. KERS-type tech started in F1 and made it to the La Ferrari already, so some form of that could be in the 458 followup.

What I'm curious about is whether the FF's AWD system will spread to other models.

    Cheers,

    Geo

If Luca has his way it will be called 17 M by the end of the season. Kimi and Alonso need to rake in the points.

I suspect they've about topped out the 458 platform. How far can they go with it. Look at the tweaks for the Speciale. This would point that they need to have a relatively large upgrade in the drive train. They did a big jump from the 360 to 430, though not altering the type of drive in the vehicle. It will be interesting to see what they do.

I think a Speciale convertible or Roadster is in order - it'd be nice to see a V8 barchetta version of of the Speciale with a lowered windscreen a la the one-off 360 Speciale Barchetta 120020.

You'll be waiting a while unless it has over 30K on the clock. Better off looking at a 12c at that price in about a year. There are already some with like 5K miles in the 185 range.

That would be awesome. If you give them $4mm they'll do it.

I'll tell you what. If you give me $4MM, I'll have them do it, and it'll be the most awesome car you've ever seen. By the time they're done commissioning my dream into reality, you'll want to buy it off of me for $8MM. PM me for an address or wiring information - at your convenience of course.

I think an SUV may be on the horizon? They are already heading in that direction with the FF. SUV's are money makers for car manufacturer's and I think it would be a big seller for them with it's shields on the side etc. I'm not saying that I would buy one personally but some like the FF so why not?

Maserati will launch soon a SUV and a small GT (2014/2015). I guess in the Ferrari model family is no room for an additional product line. LdM communicated that Ferrari does not want to sell more than 8000 units per year, the economies of scale takes place over Maserati.

The next really new ferrari car, after the cali whenever it comes out will be the 458 replacement. Yes the 458 platform probablky has 5 more years to go, and there will be new names but those are derivative cars.

I think we are going to see, somethign like the Mille Chilli.

As to hybridization, its the enemy of weight. maybe in Europe where theya re all eco this and eco that manufacturers think its a sales point, but like stop start its a negative feauture over here. Hybrids and electrics BTW are flat at 3% of the Us market.

Now if a ferrari ha hybridization, and its not a gimick but a real performance enhancer, then maybe. But I see two patterns the big bruisers adding hybridization and a small really lightweight car, something CF with a turbo V6 to captyre the racing story and give the brand real cred.
