I have to say that I love this country.
    Fabulous food, service and environment.
I'm staying at the St. Regis. First rate hotel in a great shopping neighborhood.
What a great place Singapore is.

Yes Singapore is a great place only until you find out it will cost you US$ 1,000,000 to buy a 458.

Another choice would be Feedback Comms at Sim Lim Square # 02-44 / 45. They stock all the Vertex stuff there.

    Compare prices and see.

Antenna is in built system. I had one for a few years. Harder to hear conversations than on hand held unit. Think mine was a pioneer. Hand held units are more often than not Motorola.

    here's the difference ---

hand held - high power 5W, low power 0.5W thru a rubber ducky ...

in car set - high power 50W, low power 25W thru a high gain antenna ...

result is considerably longer range with the in car set ...

    LOL!

I'm also not a believer in comm sets & distance myself from convoys. C'mon people have been doing group drives for a century without this gadget so you can pay more attention on the road.

Dont' forget that you might need to have whatever set you buy tuned to the FOCS frequency. Best to bring someone who knows it or bring another set already tuned.

I thought the antenna was to aid better radio reception?

Not that I wouldn't agree but one should be "all hands on board" once you do spirited B-road or high-speed convoy drives rather than trying to listen out & chatting with one another especially with all the noise that our cars are making, how much can you hear?

We should just pay more attention to pre-trip briefing & look around you. You're a pilot so you get what I mean ;)

My mantra is still keep your eyes open @_@

Yep. Just pass it to Nick or that shop in Sim Lim & they'll set all the club frequencies for you but if I'm not wrong PCS channel is only given to club members.
