You're welcome to come up we can go out in my koenig BB if you like.

It adds dimension and can effect certain parts that go over it. The foot rest on the passenger side is one place. The shifter height has to be adjusted so it jives with the console and gate position. The top shelf for the dash panel I stopped short of the edge so the leather covered panel can engage under the lip that retains it. Go to far and I would be swearing at myself. Same goes for the side rocker sills. I stopped short of the edge so the added thickness doesn't effect that either.

Another year until mine's ready, but that's just around the corner in the scheme of things. Yes, it's neat (and a bit scary) to watch the transformation. I say scary because 19271 was a bit of a basket case once the full extent of some of the chassis rot etc. was revealed.

Yep it's that box of chocolates. I too had the same experience, years of hacks, neglect and abuse. However, the end justified the means. Driving my car now is like no experience I have had with all my foreign cars in the past including an earlier vintage of my car. You are looking forward to a dream ride.

Harness is in, new OEM fuse blocks will be in place shortly. Steel harness mount tabs have plastic sleeves over them as original. Ill replace a few connectors on the extremities but I needed the harness in to make sure some of the previous repairs once corrected will still put the connectors where they need to be. Ill be replacing the relays and main power connector at panel.

Dynamat on door skins for rigidity and it changes the sound of the door closing, makes the door feel heavier and just more solid. It will also change the noise level. There will be an addition layer prior to the door panel going on to stop drafts. The tunnel has many gaps that allow air to enter through the console as well as noise right from the engine bay. These have been sealed.

Head liner in place with black rivets along roof edge as well as cabin light harness.

Last but not least, and very difficult to find, the correct jack (per the parts book) for restoration ... also to be delivered to Paul tomorrow.

It may have been used as intended! This photo and your comment made me "re" realize...

People get into restorations (experience here!) and can overlook the myriad details that make the car complete. This is why you hear people jokingly say, "Whatever I budgeted, just double it!" but now you see a large grain of truth. To take a project through this depth of commitment means seeing it through. All the way.

Congratulations to you both (and to the many hands also involved). This is fun to watch, read, see, half-agonize with you, and finally to fruition, which is actually visible now!

So, you're going to actually see the car this week? Might want to wear padded clothing for when you hit the floor! Gonna be breathtaking.
