They grab hold of a skid each and the pilot takes off. While they hang on, a fourth person hands each of them a beer. They skull their drinks above a dam, hold on a little longer then fall into the water.. Australia's Civil Aviation Safety Authority now wants to know who was flying. "There's a real risk to the lives of the people that are hanging off the skids. That's why we have rules which don't allow you to be on the skids of helicopters," Peter Gibson from CASA said. As part of the social media game the drinkers "nek-nominate" more people, challenging them to do better. "I just can't believe that people are stupid enough to do this sort of thing," Health Minister Lawrence Springborg said of the drinking game. "If you want to be an idiot and kill yourself, then do this sort of madness." All Black forward Steven Luatua has apologised after he featured in one of the videos. In front of at least one child a beer is chugged through a firearm, another man smashes his empty stubbie before plunging metres off a bridge. Another man drinks in the back of a ute while his mate does burn outs. Experts are concerned that not only does the craze glorify binge drinking but combines it with stunts, which are becoming more elaborate and more dangerous. "It's peer pressure and the pressure is to do more and more and get bigger and better and that's a problem," Mitchell Giles from Lives Lived Well said. Authorities want it to end before laughter turns to tears.
