Which to keep??? Here is my take: When you purchased them, you had a vision and desire supported by $$$ to make these purchases. If you purchased the black for resale, then let her go for a profit and I believe you will get your asking price. These cars are going up in value. I am not taking penny less than my asking price on mine. The red one is unique and very rare so I would keep her and enjoy her topless.
No, per the guidelines: 10. The key purpose of the concours is to promote the preservation of the Ferrari in its original state. Therefore, the primary focus of the judging will be on originality, authenticity and condition with minor emphasis on cosmetics. Deductions will be made for over-restoration; extravagance detracts from originality. Applied patina is discouraged. Spyder conversions and unauthorized rebodies are ineligible for judging. Over-cleanliness is unnecessary; some slight road dust and wear is to be expected. Ferraris are meant to be driven.
I am aware of this, However one might ask after seeing this Video.. It features a Straman testarossa and leads one to believe that they would be welcome at an event commemorating testarossas from all years. by any chance are you connected to this event?? Ferrari Club of America 2014 Annual Meet
sure I think. it is still a testarossa. of course you will get no prize because of the conversation, but still looks nice. and: the rear windshield never may break by lifting up the car
No chance - not affiliated. I know all cars are welcome and there is a separate "show only" category that a unique car like yours will surely stand out in. I am local to the area (Virginia) and making plans to attend with my 512TR and possibly entering it in both the Concours and Macchina.
I have heard Pininfarina built two. One was totalled by some relative of the Ferrari family, the other belongs to the Sultan. Million dollar cars.
I was there for the video shoot - white TR. My friend had a red 512TR there. Several asked why they insisted on featuring the cut TR when it couldn't even be judged. I guess the visionary for the video liked the car. I can say that it looked like it hadn't seen the light of day in years. Yours looks much nicer and better cared for. I would love to see it if you bring it. But, I think you will have more fun and get better traction for resale if your black one were to come in and win some bling. That is assuming Robbie wins the bet and you still have it
the late Gianni Agnelli, head of Fiat at the time, as a gift.[15][16] The Testarossa Spider had a silver exterior, a white magnolia leather interior with a dark blue stripe running above the matte black sills, and a white top that could be manually stowed away.[15][16] The vehicle was delivered to Agnelli in 1986, and had a silver Ferrari logo on the hood instead of an aluminium one.[15][16] Sounds like an unusual colour combination with the dark blue stripe above the black sills, wonder if there's any photos of this?
Eenie Meenie Mienee Mo.. My Mother says to pick this one and out goes __________________________________? Maaaa, Do I have to sell one??? In Retrospect, what a beautiful undervalued car the testarossa is, at this point in Time! But give it a few months....! or like 80 days!!!! Image Unavailable, Please Login

I think that the correct answer to the question "Could this be judged at an official event?" would be to ask the officials, as various "officials" at various "official events" may have different ideas. These ideas will be subject to change over time and at different events. Sherrillt is correct though for this event we are speaking of. FCA 2014. About other correctness. I would keep the Black car and I would drive it if I wanted to. I have owned two low mileage cars that I wanted to drive and so I did. I was not concerned about what the next guy wanted. I wanted to enjoy the open roads. And I did. I am cognizant of the value, which IMO becomes chat too often. If I had these two cars, I would have to ask myself which one I want to drive. Then that I would do. I do not want static art. I want kinetic art. It needs to be moving, and it needs to move me. I would be guided not by the blue book, but buy my soul and my spirit. They would both be saying to me. Let's get her going. Life is just too short. I honestly hope that this has helped. In a cryptic kind of way. So... you're selling me the Black one right?
Anyone with insights on who made the 512TR and how many? It looks great and I had never seen a 512TR or M chopped. The work on it and the Testarossa looks above and beyond any other Spyder conversion I have ever seen. BTW - I want XJ220 but I would have to sell most of my cars to get it
