Hello, I am considering buying this 77, but I am wondering about the speedometer with the redlines, and the 1.0 Bar boost gauge, for 04/77 it should be 1.5 bar, no? Also the electric seats must have been added later, as well as the seatbelts for the rear? Any hints would be greatly appreciated... Cheers! Translating "pace" into French is "rythme"...so R probably indicates pace car. S for the safety cars.
Japan 300 KPH speedometer with red range markings and non-factory rear seat bottoms. Rear seat belts may have been a factory option in '77 but I doubt these are original. The 1.0 bar boost gauge first appeared on the 1978 3.3 liter 930's.
Inside Porsche's secret museum warehouse Probably a few 930s hidden under car covers. The white car looks like a 74 Carrera RS and the photo nicely illustrates the DNA for the 930 flares. Wow idart, as always amazed. from that link, what is this car? Look at the rear fender line, a WTL prototype? Funky, also the different style Fuchs`front and rear... And the second one, that rear spoiler rubber oddly looks like a mixture between a 3.3 tea tray and a 3.0 whale tail? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
and a very good friend of mine today did a great shot, thought I'd share Image Unavailable, Please Login
Its a 1983 Porsche 911 SC/RS, limited to 20 cars, this was Porsche's spectacular Group B rally car. Here are all 20 of them. Image Unavailable, Please Login

wow. this thread keeps amazing me, lots of knowledge! What is that 3rd exhaust pipe, that oddly looks like frozen wastegate exhaust? And what on earth is that "turbo banana" mentioned? Are thee any SC/RS survivors being traded? Feels like a lost species! THX for sharing...
Very cool...I should have known that '74 Carrera RS would not have black painted Fuchs. I like the clock delete.
I must say it is slightly concerning when Porsche Ag accepts or features cars in its own Museum that are not in correct-for-period spec. IMVHO, of course.
The "Turbo Banana" is the rear trailing arm from the 930... it's aluminum. The shock is attached to it. It's nicknamed a 'banana arm' due to it's sort of banana shape; all 911's have them; the 930 arm is slightly different.
i believe its a dual stage exhaust which can be opened up for off road or circuit use. ive seen one on the factory rallye porsches before.
From the auction: "One of the harder finds was a new set of leathers for the interior, a single set which they happened upon at the Porsche factory, which was replaced at same time." The replacement interior is a mix of 930 styles. The rear deck is a 1975 non-pleated style but the rear seats are 1977+ but without the turbo script on the seat back (perhaps from a 911). About the turbo script on the seat back, my 75 don't have it and it seems to be the original matérial. An other buyer of an original 75 ( non restore) was surprise his car didńt have it too. Any info about it ?
