    - Round front seat back tilt release knobs (sport and standard)
    - No embroidered turbo script on left rear seat back
    - Blaupunkt Köln standard radio (no cassette) with speakers in rear deck only
    - Blaupunkt Bamberg (w/ cassette) optional with speakers in rear deck and doors

    1976 930 (changes)
    - No speaker grill on top of dash pad
    - Black vinyl on instrument cluster surround
    - 180mph speedometer (U.S. & British) and 300 KPH version w/ red range markings (Japan)
    - Seat belt and brake dash warning lights (U.S.)
    - 1976-style instrument panel gauges and controls (no boost gauge in tachometer)
    - Updated accelerator pedal

    - Pleated rear deck behind rear seat backs
    - Square knobs for front seat back tilt release

With koln radio, it means , no speaker on the door ? Neither speaker cover ?

The Koln only has outputs for one left and right speaker for the rear deck. Many '75 930's (mine included) had door speakers added with speaker covers.

Great stuff thanks, but one thing I'm still curious about is when was the cutoff for functional rear quarter windows? The green car above has them, you can see the rear latch just like the early cars, but my '76, #470, does not.

After a string of old 911's and my current 914-6, an old friend offered me a 77 930 -- an offer I couldn't refuse. Great thread. Have read only 30-40 pages thus far. Looking forward to the rest of it. Thanks!

That's strange as my 77 #96 has them.

I had to run out to the garage to be absolutely sure, but my '77 #477 has them. IIRC, all 3.0 litre turbos had the functional rear quarter windows, but it wouldn't be the first time that I was wrong if they didn't.

Now if only I could remember to open the windows when it gets hot out.

Pop out rear quarters to me are a ++ for the 75-77 turbo carrera along with sunroof open. No need for AC on open highway and a t shirt. That's summer driving at its best.

Great photo that illustrates that this Le Mans entry had wider BBS wheels than the stock Fuchs. That’s the beauty of the 930 - homologated with wider than needed fenders for stock Fuchs but just remove the factory spacers and put on wider wheels & tires for racing. Also note the rear quarter windows are tilted open.

At the 1975 Le Mans, the GTX class allowed very few modifications: roll cage, 100-liter fuel tank, seatbelt harness mounts & belts, hood quick straps, brakes, aux. oil cooler, and lights for the door numbers (rectangular lights are visible behind the number “20”). It would be nice to know the chassis number for this 930 and if it is a survivor. Giuliakeka, can you post some photos of your 1975 930 Turbo?

I have ask the Romand Porsche Club but they dont have the answer.
L ´ACO ( Automobile Club de l'Ouest) ask 300 euros to get the "fiche de pesage " from le Mans 1975...

Funny to compare the test lap time .
    930 : 4.31.1
    BB. : 4.30.0
    308 Gt4 : 4.32.9
    3.0 CSL 4.06.0( Poulain car )
One Daytona : 4.20.1 or 4.17.3 for the NART n45
    Joest RSR: 4.16.7

The gap between 930 and the BB is not so big if considering the différence of top speed.

Very nice! It is optioned the same as my '75 (no A/C and sunroof). Is your interior black and can you share your chassis number?

In addition to the brake disc change at the 23rd hour mentioned by Karl Ludvigsen (Porsche: Excellence was Expected), Porsche 930 Turbo No. 20 was also slowed by drive-shaft changes at the 15th hour that may have placed them out of the top 10 and just behind the two Ferrari 365 GTB4’s that finished in 12th and 13th.

Joe Sackey, was reading on rennlist you may need some base gaskets for 75-77 930 headlight washers. I have some new ones so letting forum members know. PM for your interest.

Love some commentary! I guess that is the 'optional' center console/cassette holder? No AC? What type of radio? Are those square speaker covers original? Pleats in the door panel fabric or no?

The radio is a Blaupunkt Koln show in a past post with speaker that i removed since as I have change the tartan with the same one but new. i have keep the original leather as i prefer to have maximum original parts. i will see for carpet change but they are original too. But i admit those heavy carpet seems older than on my 67 911.
About the console cassette, as told before , i have à Doubt if original but it is there.
    Options of delivery : (220 ) pont autobloquant, (395 ) tyres 50 with 7 and 8 rims, (571 ) rear fog light , (650 ) open roof.
