On this video, at 3:00 mn, we see a 930 pace car in hurry.
A scale model of the Le mans car. I notice An external oil filling or something else ? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Guiliakeke, Gorgeous model, I got rather excited and looked for it on ebay, only to discover from the link I belatedly noticed that someone created that model. Is that your work? Would love to have a model of that car, but something tells me I have neither the talent nor the time to do it myself! Anyone who has some modelling ability might be interested in this ebay find, which bears the S CD 1337 plate that I believe is a factory test plate? 1 24 Porsche 930 Turbo Model Kit | eBay Seller claims it is a mid to late 80's Turbo, but it's a 3.0 car. very cool... i saw a calder bmw there too! its was such a fabulous era to run street cars at LM. once it went GR 5 it became unrecognizable as authentic street cars 4:18 for the gr4 pantera... pretty darn respectable many thanks for the wonderful link
Thanks Giuliakeka - your 930 is only 17 numbers earlier than mine. Since your car was equipped with limited slip, Id be interested to learn your transmission number as mine is much earlier than my chassis number but is original per the PCNA COA. I love your tartan interior with the silver paint.
Very cool model. It looks accurate except it should have a larger secondary tail vent as No. 20 was originally equipped with A/C and it should also have snorkel vs. later-style flush headlight washers. I thought the appendage on tail was a radio antenna but perhaps it was an extension for the oil tank filler. Its quite impressive that this 930 placed 15th overall and was 1st in the GTX class (non-homologated production cars) at the 1975 Le Mans. It was essentially a production 930 with a few necessary equipment and safety mods that lasted 24 hours at speed. How many other 1975 production cars could have lasted 24 hours at Le Mans without engine or transmission failure? The large center console plastic should have a circle on the back with a two digit date code (in case you ever remove it for some reason to check). I don't think it was available until 1977, but someone please prove me wrong! I'm surprised M392 (full tartan interior) wasn't on your option list?
I will Check for the console date. For the intérior, it´s on an other Line " intérieur d'origine : cuir et tissu écossais rouge". There is also a list with equipment but they are on all cars I suppose. ( rear wiper, front fog lights, , tint glass, automatic heater, Bilstein, etc....
Other cars are the First Le Mans Daytona ( Thomson) ! After à race of 24 hrs they Even went back home to Pozzi garage on there own wheels ..
Is it time for a separate thread dedicated to OEM specifications, options, design details and year-to-year variations/updates? Lot's of wealth in this thread but requires a lot of work.
Why don't you start one, and see how it fares? No harm in trying it out. Personally, I find it easy to research anything in this thread using the search functions available. I think it would be even more work searching for another thread that will in all likelihood quickly disappear as soon as all the specs/options/design details/year variations are spelled out. Also, that material is already pretty much established here, so perhaps a separate thread would be repetition of same, and as such, redundant. There is something to be said for having the info in one convenient place. IMVHO, of course.

I just noticed that the snorkels and the rubber base gaskets have been reproduced by Dr. Georg Konradsheim. 195 EUR a set. They are listed as "Spritzdüsen" under the Store at www.rsr.at.
Hey Guys First posting... Photo of my 1977 3.0 turbo's engine nearing the completion of a fuel system rebuild - the dreaded K-Jetronic will trouble me no more having been completely renewed (along with the clutch, fly wheel, exhaust, about 1,000 nuts, washers, gaskets and hoses...) It has been a chore, but it will be worth it! Cheers Bob Australia Image Unavailable, Please Login

Not sure if everyone has seen this Excellence article - 1,000,000 kilometre 1976 930 with original owner Excellence :: Second Bill : 1976 930 with 600,000+miles I've seen his car at Watkins Glen a couple of times, met him once at Mosport, and was right behind him in my neighbourhood this fall. Great tale of a 1 owner 930. When I spoke to him in June, he said the 930 is now pumping out more than 500hp. Not bad for a fairly stock looking car. He didn't hang about when I was behind him, too. Too bad I wasn't in my 930. At Mosport, I recall he was doing laps at lunchtime, during a break in the Historic Grand Prix events. He was tucked up behind a 355 and they were both flying along, leaving a group of other sports cars far behind. Very nice gentleman, and great car. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Giuliakeka, here are some images of 1975 930 Turbo, 9395700172, just one number away from your #173 owner’s manual. This car sold on eBay in 2008 from San Luis Obispo, CA for $8,500. It was heavily modified, may have been missing the original engine and transmission, and need of TLC…whereabouts today unknown.
